  1. I have just seen this and haven't really had anytime to read up on what is going on. I really hope everything is on the up and up.

I can only speak for what I have personally seen; and that is through the Angel Food ministry at St. James Community Church, there has been hundreds of local Paulding county families.

I hate to hear that there might be some problems from the top of the ministry.

I just hope and pray this doesn't affect the people that really need help the most!

  2. Today at The Neighborhood Cafe....Frito Pie.

Pile a Frito's topped with our great Chili with Cheese and Sour Cream on top!!

  3. Tender Loving Pet Grooming celebrates its 5th year of operation.

This shop was opened May 8, 2004 by the late Tim Brendel (founder and creator).

Luke Mathews now operates the shop Tender Loving Pet Grooming and is a proud member of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce where he also serves as an abassador.

Tender Loving Pet Grooming will be hosting a re-grand opening on February 7th [/b]at their new location 403 W. Memorial Drive Dallas, GA 30132 (it is next door to its orginal location).

As a treat for stopping by, we will be offereing free nail cutting, 20% of grooming, 20% off baths, and a selection of food to make everyone welcome.

Please come and see our beautiful new location.

Hey Luke! Hope all went well and it's good to see you in a new great location. I wish you the best.

    Matt

  4. I see that there is a drive thru

Do I need to place a order first then go to the drive thru

Or just pull up and order

    thanks

Yep. Just give us a call and then come through the drive thru. We don't have a menu board up yet, but you can call us and we will have it ready for you when you come by.

  5. Matt, Congrats on the new building!! If you guys need a few extra pair of hands, school will be out the week of Feb 16th. I bet I can come up with a "few" teenagers to help out. Just give us a call or PM if you will be doing anything that week.

    Wendy =)

Oh yeah! We really could use the help. There is a lot of cleaning we could have them do. We may just have to make that a good work week.

Congratulations, Pastor Matt! I love to see how God moves. We will be praying for you and your flock as you follow God in this new journey!!!

Thanks, God is good. I love to see how he always is working even when we think we are the ones pulling the strings! :)

    Thanks for your prayers.

  6. Hey there everyone. Hope all is well.

I wanted to just let everyone know that St. James Community Church is going to be moving to a new location.

We will be moving into the old PKW Supply building on Butler Industrial right next to the D&A Tire.

This building is about 4 times the size of our building now and it is a better location for us than where we currently are. Our goal was to be more visible to the community and have the room we wanted to grow.

Right now we will only be occupying the front 2500 sq ft or so of the building until we grow enough and have the funds available to build out the rest of the building to how we have envisioned it.

We have A LOT of work to do to the inside and outside of the building to get it ready, and we hope to be fully in the building by end of march or early april.

Now, for my shameless plug! If you don't have a church or are looking for a church come visit with us. Now is a great time to come on board with St. James as we go through this move and begin a new phase of our ministry. Along with that comes changes and improvements to the church operations and ministries.

We are laid back people, but serious for God. We like to laugh and have fun, and we like to worship God intensly. We have modern worship and sermons that are relevant to all of us for our daily lives as Christians.

We believe in helping those in need and we are sad that we can't help more people. We had rather spend money on putting food on someone table than making our church building look pretty.

We participate in Angel Food ministry and we are ALWAYS looking and needing more people to help us with this ministry.

If this sounds like something for you, then come visit us. We are meeting right now in our building on S.Johnston Street right across the RR tracks from Dallas FBC.

    Thanks and God bless.

  7. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I went up to take him a hamburger because he wouldn't eat the hospital food they gave him. He was in good spirits, but tired....and of course he was giving the nurses fits about taking his medicine. But other than that he is good. He will most likely get lots of sleep the next day or so, but that is exactly what he really needs right now.

I'm sure he will be back up here very soon.

  8. Thanks, Pastor Matt!

    Than is a good question.

I know this is a totally different plant atmosphere, because it deals with sugar, but one of our representatives blatantly took sides with the Chief Executive of the sugar plant that blew up and killed a bunch of people, near Savannah Georgia, a few months back. The OSHA ( Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration) found gross safety inelegance that lead to the explosion.

It really don’t take no genius to figure out such coincidence, like this, all happening under one State government.

That still doesn't have anything to do with the fact that OSHA failed to find all the gross safety violations BEFORE the explosion.

  9. On February 14, 2007, the FDA warned consumers not to eat certain jars of Peter Pan peanut butter or Great Value peanut butter due to risk of contamination with Salmonella. ConAgra manufactured both the Peter Pan and Great Value brand peanut butter in a single facility in Sylvester, Georgia. Great Value (a Wal-Mart brand) peanut butter made elsewhere is not affected.

That problem has been resolved, however!

But the latest salmonella outbreak has spawned one of the largest ever product recalls Wednesday by a Georgia peanut plant where federal inspectors reported finding roaches, mold, a leaking roof and other sanitary problems. Peanut Corp. of America, in Georgia, continued shipping peanut products even after they were found to contain salmonella.

Where are our representatives here in the state of Georgia?

When a Sugar plant blew up and killed a bunch of people, where gross safety violations were discovered by our Occupational Safety and Health Administration, one of our Georgia Senators was on the side of the CEO of the PORT WENTWORTH, GEORGIA Sugar Plant. This CEO knew of the gross danger that OSHA found to have existed in the plant

Peanut Corporation of America's CEO also knew that he was releasing salmonella, in his peanut butter product, to be sold to consumers all across the country.

    WTF?

These 2 cases are horrible with all the things found to be in violation.

My only question is this...Why are these violations not found until AFTER the fact??? These companies are totally to blame, but who the heck are these inspectors that are not catching these violations?!?!

  10. I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this or not. I saw a story about this on channel 11 news the other night.

    http://www.angelfoodministries.com/

It is available for people of ANY income level. The more people that order, the more food and bigger discounts they can offer. The story is still on the 11 Alive website. They have many places for order pickup including several locations in Paulding.

St. James Community Church is a local distribution point. It is a really great ministry! :D
