Praying for these kids and their families. So sad & scary! I remember when that happened here in Hiram probably 20-25 years ago. Not real clear on the details but it was either 2 or 3 boys, brothers I think, that were playing on a frozen pond off of Cleburne Pkwy when they fell through and drowned. My neighbor's little girl went to school with one of them. It was a horrible time.

My parents and grandparents always said if snow stays on the ground 3 days there will be more coming within 10 days. Hmmmmmmm!!

We just went out 92 toward Douglasville from Hwy 278 to Sweetwater Church Rd. It was okay. There are spots that are still icy but you can manage them. Nothing major. I have no idea how 92 is past Sweetwater Church, though. Also, Downtown Hiram is okay now.

Anyone know how the Cleburne Pkwy / Rosedale Rd area is? How about the parking lot in front of Sams. TIA!

Yes it was! They had me really worried in the beginning of the game but they got their game on and pulled it off!!! Yay Tide!!!!

We've got sleet here in Hiram and our walkway out front is getting kinda slippery. The temp on our back porch themometer is showing 33 degrees so still not cold enough to freeze.

I think most hospitals have wi-fi now. In 2008 when Ellie was born we had it at Tanner in Villa Rica. Check with the hospital and see.

I remember. Hubby and I had only been married 3 months and were living in an apartment in Stone Mtn. We lost power for 3-4 days so we made the rounds going to our parents houses and staying. My Aunt in Buford lost power for 8 days. It was a bad ice storm. -
I remember those days. They did the same thing with Service Reps. Man...that was a billion years ago!!!!

Yep...you're right. Seems like they could figure out that it would actually be cheaper on them in the long run to pay for these tests rather than the care that would go into someone who has a major stroke or heart attack.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around this one. How in the world could a Grandma hurt their grandchild???!!!! If my daughter & SIL were to split up there's no way it would make me want to kill Ellie!!!!!!! This woman has some serious mental issues and it's hard to believe that there were no signs that she was wacko. Someone who is this unbalanced had to be showing some signs......

Go to www.lifelinescreening.com. You can put in your zip code and it will give you a list of all the places near you that you can have this done and the dates they'll be there. There are several packages of screenings to pick from that run from $60.00 to "starting at $219.00". My thinking is the complete profile which is all 6-8 of the tests is the one that was around $300.00 when we checked into it.

I have a kid who has classes at KSU until 10:45 this evening. I sure hope the roads stay okay until at least 11:30 so he can get home safely. Maybe they'll cancel evening classes if it starts looking bad....

Hubby's doctor has recommended that he get this done but insurance doesn't cover it. It's around $300.00 for all of the tests. Since it's been proven to be a highly effective preventative procedure I don't understand why the cost isn't covered by insurance. Looks like they would rather pay for that than all of the expense that would go into taking care of someone who had a stroke or heart attack.

I have a "Snowjam '82" baby. She turned 27 this past October.

Well, if you can believe Karen Minton on WSB, this morning she was showing the timeline of this snow event and it looks like it's not even going to start here until between 3-6PM. I would think kids could get home from school before the roads got bad. I have to say that I really don't think we have anything to worry about, though. Doesn't look like it's going to be that bad to me.

My hubby burned popcorn in ours a couple of years ago. Seriously burned it....the bag caught on fire!!!! We never did get the smell or stain out of it. Eventually just bought a new one. Good luck!!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I have been praying for this little boy daily. I'll keep his family in my prayers.

A friend of mine went to Chattahoochee Tech a few years ago and got her certification in Medical Transcription. She went to school full time for a year and HOPE paid for it. Not sure if they still do, though. This was probably 10-12 years ago.

My daughter & SIL both work for Tanner and they say that Willowbrook at Tanner in Villa Rica is an excellent facility. It's the new one across the street from Tanner Medical Center in VR.

It's never happened to me but I have heard several people talk about it happening to them. Since it seems to happen so much I would say it's probably a con....

Thanks! She seems alot better this morning but I'll keep this in mind.

Is this what's in yogurt? I tried to feed her yogurt and she threw it up. Any suggestions?
