  1. A 2 year old child has no concept of danger. It's our job to protect them....period. Whether they're our kids or someone else's kids. Folks can bash me all they want but if I see a child doing something that is dangerous then I'm going to stop them. I think you should report this to DFACS and let them check out the situation. I feel so sorry for that child being raised in this environment. It's not his fault....someone has to be his advocate.
  2. This is what my doctor said. She said that it's harder to get the dosage correct and your levels where they should be with generic meds but once everything is situated then you should be able to use the generics without any problem. I'm still on Synthroid because we're still trying to get my levels fixed but once they are I think I'm going to switch to generics. They're alot cheaper!!!
  3. Go to the drugstore and buy AZO. It works great at stopping the pain really quick. If you can't find it ask the druggist.
  4. Keep in mind, though, that even though the average life expectancy of ALS patients is 2-5 years, 5% of people live longer than that. It all just depends on where in the body the disease starts from and how fast it progresses. Each patient is different. I'm praying that your cousin will be in this 5% and she will have time to see her two little girls grow up. The ALS Clinic at Emory will be a wonderful resource for your cousin and your family.
  5. That's what I thought, too, but my Rose of Sharon is blooming like crazy right now. So is my next door neighbor's. Maybe because the weather has been so hot it thinks it's later in the Summer than it actually is. IDK....
  6. I have a very good friend whose husband passed away from ALS 4 years ago. He was 40. It is a horrible disease. I'm so sorry that you and your family will have to deal with this. Emory hospital has an ALS clinic that gives support to people and their families. My friend works there now as a volunteer. I'll be glad to put you in touch with her if you want me to. Just let me know. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.
  7. Spoke too soon....it's pouring here in Hiram now....
  8. No rain here in Hiram yet but it's very dark and windy. Alot of thunder. I hope we get some rain. My tomatoes need it!!! Just not the lightning!!!!
  9. Something just doesn't add up. I hope I'm wrong but maybe they should be looking pretty close at the stepmom.... just sayin'....
  10. I will keep them in my prayers.
  11. Thanks! This will be our first time going there. We're looking forward to it. It does look like a very quiet, laid back place. We've rented a house on the beach. We're hoping to get a glimpse of some sea turtles coming in to nest. Just hope they aren't covered in oil.
  12. We're going to St. George Island the first week of August. The only way we'll get a refund is if the beaches are closed. I guess if they aren't then we'll go on down there.

    Doctor

Any Wellstar doctor/facility will accept Aetna. I have Aetna and use Dr. Christa at Wellstar Powder Springs Medical Center.
  14. We're supposed to go to St. George Island the first week of August. If any of the beaches are closed we can get a refund of our rental money for the house. If not then I guess we just go and hang out in Applalachicola. GEEZ!!!!
  15. One of my all time favorite TV shows! I still watch the reruns even though I've seen every episode a billion times.
  16. This is horrible!!! Nothing humorous about it to me.
  17. I would be furious! No one has the right to touch anyone else's child. I guess you have to decide if you want to remain friends with these people. If you do then y'all need to all sit down and talk about what happened and make it clear that under no circumstances is he ever to touch your children.
  18. Do y'all take your flag inside when it rains? We put ours out but we're getting kinda tired of taking it down during rain then putting it back since it's raining every little bit right now. The flag etiquette rules say you should take it down during inclement weather....
  19. This is what I'd like to know, too. We have a house rented on St. George for the first week of August. I'm kinda concerned about this oil situation.
  20. Thanks! There's also one going around about a free bag of Doritos. It's fraudulent too.
  21. Congratulations to both of you!
  22. Does this lady live in Paulding? That is so sad and scary!!!!!
