  1. I'm glad to see them working things out and I hope they're able to make it work.
  2. I take the easy route. Buy 2 deep dish frozen pie shells. Mix 2 cans of mixed veggies, drained; 3 cans of chicken (chicken breast in the cans that look like tuna cans) and 2 cans of cream of chicken soup. Salt & pepper to taste, pour in one of the pie shells and cover it with the other one. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. It's really very good and so easy.
  3. I'm voting today when I get off work. Poplar Springs Baptist Church on Hwy 92 in Hiram is one of the early voting venues and is where I'll be going.
  4. I think if you just go and turn in the tag before you cancel the insurance they won't ask for any proof that you sold it. They just cancel out the tag. If you don't turn in the tag and just cancel your insurance then that's when you have to supply proof that you sold it. Least that's how I understood it.
  5. Turn it in to the tag office. If you don't, when you cancel your insurance the DMV will contact you about not having insurance on your car any longer. You'll have to go to the tag office and supply proof that you sold the car and turn in the tag or they'll suspend your drivers license. At least that's what the letter we got said.
  6. Maybe it'll take another direction today and miss us! I sure hope so!!!!
  7. We live in Hiram off of Cleburne Pkwy. It was really bad here last night! Our power went off around 7:45 and didn't come back on until around midnight. One of our neighbors said he heard a tornado touched down on Nebo. The wind/lightning/hail/rain was horrible here!
  8. You had me all the way down to the chicken hearts. I gotta draw the line somewhere....
  9. Are you talking about Top of The River? If so, that place is great!!! We eat there everytime we go to Guntersville. They have 3 or 4 locations. Here's the website www.topotheriverrestaurant.com
  10. I agree!! Seabreeze in Douglasville. YUMMY!!!!!
  11. My hubby is diabetic. I get alot of recipes from www.kraftkitchens.com. Click on the tab "Healthy Living". Good luck to you.

  13. We used Pete Guy Paving when we built our concrete pad for our RV. He and his crew did a great job. Very quick and reasonable, too! His # is 770-445-6831 or 770-318-4681.
  14. I don't have a dishwasher. I wash dishes by hand and I actually don't mind doing it. I also iron and use ice cube trays. No ice maker. We do have an electric ice cream freezer. The wooden bucket kind. We used to have the crank kind but I got tired of that pretty quick. I don't hang clothes outside because I don't want to risk them getting bird poop on them. We have a ton of birds around here because I put out birdseed.
  15. Looks nice!!! Hope the beach is that pretty when we get there in August.
  16. I've said it all along and I still say it.....the stepmom is involved in this child's disappearance. Stuff just doesn't add up...
  17. Southwestern Chicken Salad
  18. Oh my!!!! How terrible!!! Prayers going up for little Grayson and his Mom & Dad.
  19. Thanks! I didn't even think about that. I'll go e-mail her.
  20. I know she's not on PCOM very much anymore so I was wondering if anyone on here is in contact with her and could ask her to get in touch with me. TIA!!!!
  21. We're supposed to go to St.George Island the first week of August. The rental agency for the house we've rented told me if they closed the beaches then we could cancel and get our money back - minus a 10% "processing" fee....whatever that would be. Doesn't seem right to me. I would think we should get 100% of our money back and they can go after BP for the full amount of the rental they lost. Anyway, guess we'll go on down there if the beaches are open. We'll probably just hang out in Appalachicola instead of on the beach.
  22. I seriously don't think we're going to see much reduction in our taxes. According to the Q&A sheet that was included in the envelope with the assessment the county will just adjust the mileage rate to make up for it. I mean, think about it, the county can't afford to lose that much tax revenue. They aren't going to cut everyone's taxes. That's just MHO.
  23. I've felt from the beginning that the stepmom was involved. Things just didn't sound right.
  24. I have several of the cookbooks published by the Telephone Pioneers back in the Southern Bell days. The ones published by the Georgia Chapter are called "Dogwood Delights". The one published by the Kentucky Chapter is called "Kentucky Kitchens". They have some very easy, very good recipes in them.
