  1. Couldn't resist. In the conversations about private vs. public schools, no one seems to mention that one of the biggest differences between public and private schools is that public schools are required to teach everyone. Private schools don't. Private schools have entrance requirements which mean they can exclude special needs students, behavior problems, etc. They can also terminate enrollment if the parent is disagreeable or unrealistic. They can expell students for discipline issues without having to jump through 15 hoops. In addition, Georgia test scores include everyone. Other sta
  2. According to folk wisdom, more foliage on trees and plants means a long, cold winter. Not necessarily with snow, but long and cold. The trees are a lot fuller this year, but I think we can wait to buy bread and milk!!
  3. It would be interesting to see what the numbers are for charity. It's probably in "other", but it would be nice to know the specifics. This is interesting.
  4. I may be wrong, but it was my understanding that the developer originally meant for the area to be a small clubhouse and pool. The developer stopped building and turned it over to another builder. The new builder sold it because he was building deeper into the subdivision and didn't want that piece of property. I don't know for sure. It's just what we heard when we moved here in the 90's.
  5. You really should look at several to see which one is best for you. Lifeway or Family Christian Books will have a good selection. There's so much more to choose from than there were when my kids were that age. Good luck!!
  6. What I have found is that most people are using lawn companies to maintain their yards or doing it themselves. I tried to find a student who was willing to do my yard work on a consistent basis and couldn't find any that would agree to doing it on a schedule. They wanted me to call them when I needed someone to cut my lawn, trim, etc. I finally found a young man who has a lawn service that is putting him through school and supports his family. He's a little expensive, but everything gets done and I don't have to call him every time. In this economy, I'd rather hire someone who is reliable
  7. Marotti's at the corner of East Paulding and Mt. Tabor. Great service, honest, and reliable!
  8. Legally, he could keep it. However, it's the right and ethical thing to do what he did and give it back. What's legal isn't always right. I hope I would do what he did and applaud him for doing it.
  9. Private schools can deny admittance to any student they choose. Some would probably accept her and then ask her to leave because it was too much of a distraction.
  10. I would not buy them. I don't buy anything with a business logo on it, even if I like the business. I don't advertise for businesses, especially if I have to pay. Now if you paid me.........hmm.
  11. My Mom is 85. She likes Macy's, Penney's, Belk's, Kohl's, and Dillard's, but the main reason she likes them is because she can get Alfred Dunner clothes there.
  12. There will be school. I have milk, bread, firewood, toilet paper, and flashlights. We always have school when I've got the essentials.
  13. I found a pair of ladies glasses on the edge of the street around the parking lot next to the New Era office. If you lost a pair of glasses, please either post with how I can get in touch with you or PM me. They are brownish metal with rectangular lenses.
  14. But Samhain is on October 31-November 1.
