    OK I have to agree with most of what everyone is saying. I am a waitress and have been for 25 yrs. I feel I do a good job and for the most part my tips reflect that. All these restaurants that are adding tips to the check could not do that, but pay the waitresses minimum wage if they are threatening not to work anymore if not compensated. Then they will have to pay it and the restaurant owners will be forced to raise prices possibly even higher than the tip that would have been added. Then all of you people who don't like to tip have no worries. But then you would pay $25.00 for a 5 oz. steak. And then all the girls will make the same thing anyway and your plan will backfire after all. And that is what the economy is coming to. Waitresses don't get tips like they used to. So therefore are leaving that job and going to minimum wage jobs for a steady paycheck. If you enjoy gpoing to a place where you have to do absolutely nothing, but sit down,order, eat,pay and leave,then continue to tip a sufficient amount or go to the grocery store, stand in line, load and unload your car, cook, and then clean up after yourself. But please quit complaining about other peoples attitudes when yours was a holier than thou when you left your house. You wanted things done right and your way, and it could have been if you would have stayed at home and done it yourself. And everyone has a bad day every now and then but we still have to work just like you, so don't judge by a one time visit with that waitress. If they are like that all the time or everytime you see them then I can understand not wanting to tip.Anyway vent over.

    How did my three kids ever live to be adults. They never wore seat belts or sit in a child seat. Instead they would stand on the seat between my wife and I or lay on the package shelf by the rear window.

    You said it they are adults now, so that would mean they are at least 21. Have you seen traffic in the last , oh say 15 years? Because that would have been about how long ago it was for your children to have fit there. And yes there is alot more traffic, therefore more accidents,therefore more injuries and deaths. I let my kids do it, but there is no way in Hell I would allow my grandchildren to.

    What? Are you crazy? Have you seen the price of food and firewood these days? If I thought that would work I would have been making noices a long time ago and I don't even have a fireplace. :lol:

    I quit cold turkey also. Been quit 6 months and 4 days. I had a collapsed lung that made me quit. Just say I want to live healthier and mean it. I used to tell people the reason I wasn't worried about dying was I had no choice how I died, so I would continue to smoke until then. But since I quit I am living healthier, richer , nicer smelling, more respect for myself and yes 50 lbs. fatter. That is from the popcorn in the morning and I ate a bag every mornig until a month ago. I guess it would of been better if it had no butter. Anyway I was a 4 pack a day smoker for the last 25 yrs. so if I can quit, it should be relatively easier for most. Also you don't have to plan your life around smoking areas, meaning being a lot warmer this winter, which is another plus. God bless and Good luck.

    i understand that, i was there 23 years ago and needed5 pints. but i don't care if the people got paid or not, it saved my life. along with the help from the doctors who did get paid. so if anyone saved my life free or otherwise i absolutely thank them.

    Lone Star rocked the House! What a show! I didn't know that the new lead singer used to lead the band at "Cowboys" He does a great job at replacing the original guy. Heck, from the introductions it seems that half the band used to play at Cowboys. They played a long show with great lights and sound including most if not all of their Number 1's and showed off some new stuff from an upcoming CD. The Encore though was incredible! These guys can ROCK. They did the lead licks from an incredible array of Rock and Roll SuperHits weaving them into a Crowd pleasing if not deafening finale! Just wondered what anybody else there thought about the show. I know it got a little loud during the finale, but if it was too loud, then you're too OLD!

    The Emmett Family, I think we're listed as Pete's 12th stop on his paper route. I'm the one he said never married and I never have. Guess I can't now since he said I never did and it's in print! Love the book but my sister won't give it up long enough for me to read it all. I have to read it when I'm at her place or spend another $60.00.

    does anyone have their scanner on? or live in that area? i can smell a very strong smoke smell, like something big is on fire. and yes i am a worry wart so if you can help, and tell me what it is i would greatly appreciate it.
