Rhonda, you are so very blesed to have your girlfriend of 33 years. I lost my best friend of 25 years to breast cancer. We were closer than sisters, we even finished each others sentences. She knew things about me that even my husband didn't know. It has been seven years since I lost her and i feel like I lost part of myself. Maybe between the two of you , you can narrow the symptoms down and match that to the type of depresion she may have. Take the info to the doctor and that will give him a good starting point. I still say it's clinical just from my own experience,but she needs to be seen by a MD. You could very well be saving her life. Thanks again for helping her. I'm glad you felt like you could "come out" and talk about your illness. It is very freeing. There is no shame in admitting you are dealing with or have had deppresion in your life. Sometimes it helps to just talk about it and hear others experiences as well.

I did some research but not making much sense to me. I had to take a break from a friend because I can't deal with negativity for very long periods of time. I've noticed that she doesn't want to do anything any more, go out, do the things she use to do. She just wants to stay home, shut off from the world.
