  1. Runor has it they are going to close the airport one Saturday/Sunday for a charity motorcyle or car ride and well....drag strip time...
  2. The authority was presented with a contract which they do not have to sign. They helicopters need to stay in Rome where there have been no complaints (supposedly)!!!
  3. Yes. I feel stuck in Georgia. I hate Eastern time zone.
  4. It was tabled at the last meeting pending legal review of the contract and discussion with Post 4 Commissioner, Wayne Kirby, who has probably received an earful from unhappy constituents.
  5. Thanks! All they need to know is the number of people in a household as far as I am concerned.
  6. True but the growth of the airport should take into consideration property owners who were there before the airport opened. To date the airport, HAS NOT been a good neighbor and citizen's concerns have NOT been addressed in a timely manner.
  7. Please come to the Airport Authority meeting Wednesday and make your concers known. If Paulding County were to land a large aviation company the runway would be fast tracked through environmental permitting to get the runway to 7000 or more feet.
  8. Paulding County's portion of the bill for this airport was 2.5% I believe with the FAA paying 95%, state 2.5% and County 2.5%. That's a very good match for federal grants.
  9. They want too much information. They want names and birthdates, race and ethnicity for each person. I am listing that 3 people live here, we are homo sapiens and our names are Jane Doe, Bob Doe and Baby Doe. LOL!!!
  10. It hasn't brought any jobs yet but they are planning to allow Black Hawk helicopters from the Air National Guard to train out there from 8 am to 11 pm at night. If you oppose this, plan on coming to the next Airport Authority meeting this Wednesday at 9am in the BOC meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Administration Building at the Watson Complex.
  11. We always come out and do the pony ride when we kow your there. We'll be there tomorrow...
  12. Yeah we sure weren't planning on getting stuck in Paulding County or GA either. I have to think that once the job market picks up, companies will have to offer full relos to get people with specialized skills.
  13. I remember hearing a stat from Realty Trac and about the # of lots in the Metro area. I bet a previous poster is correct that it is 10,000 lots. I would like to know what the foreclosure rate is in the County. Some statistics I saw a few years back on the income level of people buying homes in the County in the 2003-2006 range was over 50% low and low to moderate income by gov't standards and I think the predatory loan % was somewhere in th 30% range. I
  14. That's a staggering number consider the number units in the County-- in the 50,000 range.
  15. I am glad to see that they are doing this instead of raising taxes. It places the burden back on parents, etc. that are using the school instead of those that aren't.
  16. How horrible. I never understood what was so fun about destroying someone else's property.
  17. She wore dual hats as the Exec Asst. to the BOC and the County Clerk.
  18. Paulding for groceries,Target, etc. We like Lowe's better than Home Depot for most things so Cobb for HI and I like the Avenues. But I do a lot of internet shopping and do most of my clothes shopping when I go out of state since I don't like a lot of the malls around here..
  19. Its CORN for us (clean out fridge night)- so spaghetti and meatballs, BBQ and jambalaya to chose from.
  20. That was Pat Crook, the County Administrator that got the juicy check.
  21. No. I believe she was the County Clerk at Paulding County prior to retiring.
  22. I play the megamillions and now the powerball a little bit depending on what the jackpot is. I think they should keep the prize level what it is or increase the amount of the prize.
  23. My 31 month old son has started going to the potty once a day at day care (in the last 3 weeks). He will not even sit on the potty at the house. I ask him if he wants to go potty or if he is wet. He says no. When we 1st got the potty he would sit on it but that was 2 months ago. His teacher said he was afraid of the potty at school for a long time. I bought some training pants and rubber pants yesterday. I put some on him today and of course he said nothing and was soaking wet. Sometimes he will tell me he is wet,but it is rare. Should I just let him get a little further along with it
