Post 2 Candidate Beverly Cochran rumor is likely libel/slander
winston1972 replied to bossy08's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I find it more than suspect that the OP says that a "campaign worker" told them of something so potentially damaging and so scandalous that they would not use or potentially pass along this supposed "tidbit" to their advantage in a very public manner. Additionally, the OP is either contradicting themselves or it is extremely coincidental that a family member of the implied counterparty contacted them also in regards to the alleged "incident". I call BS and it appears to be a typical whisper campaign seen in smear campaigns towards the end of many races. OP-- put out (details) or shut up!! -
The Chamber receives money indirectly from the County via the IBA. The IBA receives $$$ through the County. The only source of funds other than old bond money, that is restricted in its usage is County funds paid quarterly to the IBA...

Gubernatorial & Attorney General Debates Tonight
winston1972 replied to NewsJunky's topic in Paulding County NEWS
The Libertarian candidate in both races must have not been invited by Chanel 5. What a shame!!!!! -
I had considered going back to school and doing something in the medical field and I had heard there were a glut of fols with nuclear medicine and radiology tech degrees and no jobs.

Thanks for the leads in GA. I've applied for admin jobs, accounting jobs, project management anything I've done in the past I'm looking primarily in several markets in Alabama where I have relatives at this point since I am having no luck in finding employment here.
-
I have an MBA and a good portion of my career has been spent in the financial industry with a stent in healthcare and government with an emphasis on marketing/market research to support business development. I've also done alot of compliance work, project management and process improvement in business analyst positions.
-
Thanks! One thing I noticed about moving from a smaller market to a bigger market is that there is more flexibility to move around, even from industry to industry if you have done something similar. My career reflects that. This has ended up being a drawback in Atlanta where they prefer to have someone who has done one specific thing in one specific industry. I've always brought a lot to the table in the positions I've had from previous experience.

I've been applying for all kinds of jobs for over a year now with little success. I'll spend hours looking for something in my field or I could do that is not on the other side of Atlanta. Out of curiousity the other day, I looked at employment opportunities back home and there were plenty. So I have decided to concentrate on getting a job back home. We both have actually. I'm really excited!!!! Wish me luck, I'm feeling pretty optimistic as my home state was not hit as hard by the down turn...

As much as I hate taxes, I will be voting yes for the SPLOST renewal. This is the fairest kind of tax. I can directly control the amount of taxes they get by spending LESS. Plus everyone pays the tax including non-residents.

I have been running scenarios through my head on this BP Oil Spill on the potential impact to the Atlanta area. After Katrina for example, a large number of New Orleans residents relocated to Atlanta. I am thinking that if we see an active hurricane season this summer there is the real potential that some areas of the gulf could become uninhabitable due to the oil, disbursants being blown many miles in covering the land and contaminating water supplies. Futhermore, I am wondering if Atlanta may be too close to the coast and if my family should begin to make plans to move north.

I'd really like some access to the wilderness area (7-10,000 acres) that Paulding County citizens voted yes to buy. The purchase went throught and nothing has been done with it. No access, no improvements, etc. This could be a great access to Paulding County and generate fee revenue and tourist dollars. Look at places like Oak Mountain in Birmingham, etc...

Mine dropped by $62,400. I guess I can kiss that 20%+ down payment($53,000) we put down on this house. I'd be lucky to sell it and break even... Oh well, at least my mortgage payment will be going down!!!

Well then they should put them in a concrete room with a gun and one bullet and let themselves end their life...

I personally think the death penalty is MURDER.. The judge, jury and attorney involved in sentencing someone to death are guilty of MURDER. No matter how heinous the the crime.

I don't know of anyone locally. You could always try to sell it on Craigslist or call Replacements (large company out of N. Carolina)

News from the candidate forum last night
winston1972 replied to WHITEY's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I heard about this. They did mention they would forgo the salary but keep the benefits. Insurance for County employees is VERY REASONABLE and would be a considerable cost savings vs. the premium they are likely paying. The big question for me is how would they be benefitting financially in this position??? -
There's a perfectly logical reason for this behavior. It's called DRUGS.. at least I hope so....

Earl Cosgrove is the only candidate I know that lives in the western side of the County. He lives in the Yorkville area.

I was reading something today that discussed the specifics on this well. Apparently this is one of the first if not the first well dug in the ocean in th range of 25-30,000 feet below this surface of the ocean (5,000 feet down). The Russians have had success at digging down to these levels on land. The force from this well was estimated in the range in 20,000 to 70,000 PSI. That kind of pressure at that deep down is really on the edge of human science to contain. There has been some discussion of agle drilling a relief well and the placing a nuke in it with the hopes of collapsing the bed an

Summer Feeding Program In Paulding County
winston1972 replied to Tammy Spain's topic in Paulding County NEWS
There will always be people that game the system or that take advantage of a program whether its a program such as this, Christmas programs, etc. The reality of the situation in GA is that 50% + of school age children are from households that qualify for free or reduced lunches. Children and the elderly ARE deserving of our empathy and help. One of the major issues I have with Republicans is a lack of empathy- but that's besides the point. If the program feeds one child whose parent is gaming the system so be it if 10 children who need it are getting a meal.. I personally would rather my ta -
I'm rooting for Plumley and Donovan (in that order) for DA. We know Drew and he is a nice person but...

We had water come into the garage and basement this afternoon. This has never happened since living her since 2006. The rain was VERY heavy.. Now its raining again... The radar in Alabama is very active- it could be a long night.

I'm near the Food Lion on 61 and we are having a heavy storm with pea sized hail. Anyone else getting hail?
