  1. I think what caped was suggesting is that just a little effort at communication might let this be a minor issue worked out between reasonable people in the matter of an hour. Considering you're looking at least at hours of research over several days; and as it is a civil matter, even if you pursue it with legalese-sounding letters and paying for public notices, etc., you could be looking at an investment of time and potentially money greater than you may want or anticipate. If nothing else, setting the stage for a low anxiety meeting of some sort (cookies work a lot better than anger-laced no

  5. In full disclosure...many years ago when my business was young, I was living in a west Cobb subdivision and working out of my home. I was starting an installation division in my company, and I bought a box truck so I could carry the materials and equipment needed for that type of work. I parked the box truck on the end of my house every night, and eventually poured concrete to extend my driveway to handle it. A neighbor in the back of the subdivision started to complain about my truck. He first came down to announce to me that he disapproved of my truck and didn't want it there, and

  7. JMHO - Let's face it, someone can find something that is "lowering property values" pretty much anywhere if they want to. Ask anyone who lives in an HOA community with zillions of "rules" which they will quickly claim are "to protect our property values!" Ever leave your garage door open for more than 2 minutes? You are lowering property values. Have a non-standard rabbit statue under your hedge? Nope, remove it! You are impacting Property values!! Next they want all the boats and campers removed from the property because they are impacting property values. Then your car can'

  11. I truly believe you mean well, but I have to ask some questions: Are we to actually believe that the founder of this forum who is still an owner with admin access will go to time out? Respectfully, sir, I doubt it. As long as he posts his hatred here and slanders members and posts his ad hominem attacks on us, it will be extremely difficult to have civil discussion. Many of us want to, but the hate in his heart makes him incapable of playing nice. You have decisions to make, my friend, if you are to protect your investment.

  13. As has already been mentioned, the new layout is very confusing. Need to keep it simple, and organize the forums so people can easily see and find them. There were some fumbles with the initial rollout; forums being added and deleted, constantly changing stuff around, and the decision to kill off politics was a poor move. I understand you've put a political forum back in, which will be a good thing so long as the mean and hateful doesn't get control of it again. There's far too much hate in this country right now and people are getting tired of it. We must learn to talk to each other wi

  15. The politics pretty much drove me away, and not to mention the new board, I do not like this new board, I have met some wonderful people on this site, and still consider them friends. This site has had it's knock down fights, and down right ugly. but it has also brought people together in time of needs, we have cried, prayed, laughed with each other and for each other. we have said goodbye to dear friends we have met on here. but when every comments turns in to something ugly, or an argument, then personally I have a hard time with that. I always liked the news from the county, but that sl

  16. Disclaimer: the following comments are highly subjective but are also based on many years of creating and working on websites. In my opinion, the 'new' paulding.com looks very unprofessional with many of the graphics in use. For example, the image to the left of the new politics forum is way too big and looks unprofessional. Also, the ads are too large especially considering there are three ads on most pages (the ads also look unprofessional, in my opinion). The forum organization is also less than ideal with most current active forums in one section. Again, all of these things ar

  17. We went to church with Jessie at Dallas Church of God in the late 80's early 90's. We even visited her at Grady during one of her episodes. We have broken bread with her numerous times and she blessed us with her friendship. I have seen the holy ghost power of the lord all over this woman. She was mentally ill, poor and far from perfect but full of love for the lord and people. I do not know her from standing on the road with her tambourine. I was lucky enough to know her much better. She knew all my wife's family and myself by name. You are right don't judge so that you be not judged.

  20. If the county is giving the choice of the kids doing virtual learning or in person learning then there should not be a waiting list for the virtual learning. Maybe since there is a waiting list that goes to show the school system that most parents are not agreeing with them to send the children back into the schools at this time. Most all other of the counties around us is using their heads for the safety of the kids by using the virtual learning while the numbers of the corona virus is still on the rise. It seems that it would make more since to do the virtual learning with the number of th

Now that both of us have some age on us we realize how much we appreciate each other and what a great ride it’s been because of both of our efforts. Neither one of us is more important than the other because both of us together is pretty incredible!

  29. You mentioned that you don't have a HOA. That, however, does not mean you don't have covenants on the deed as to the land use, including rentals or businesses, etc. That is the case in my subdivision, regulating out buildings and fencing, vehicles, parking, etc. On-street parking may be prohibited, as an example. It means, in my case, (and if you happen to have the deed restrictions/covenants also) that it can be enforced. It is a CIVIL matter, and therefore useless to complain to Marshal's office. If a property owner has violated the covenants, and built an outbuilding that

That's why kids don,t drink it but they will drink the kefir and enjoy it. What Bruce brought to the SO was professionalism. As a former teacher it is a given he was a college graduate and in Paulding of 1987, when the population was closer to 35000 people than today's 160,000 +, the old, old regime was in place and that included a sheriff who had to allegedly cut a few corners because the county wasn't funding a retirement in those days. Yep, this was the time of the county with its sole stoplight and the Walmart

Before that, paulding.com, over the last few years, turned into pretty much a place with 3 types of posts: 1) politics 2) drivel from TP and 3) non-discussion type posts (obits, business ads, etc.). I participated quite heavily in the politics section and, aside from posts from some other specific people (who I won't list here), enjoyed the back and forth about important political topics. Some will argue the politics section is what caused many people to stop posting in other sections. I'd argue that it's
