TV's 'Captain Kangaroo,' dies at 76

He will be greatly missed.

QT aren't you too young for Captain Kangroo? (this is a compliment) I know my age and you look too young(Palulding.com jackets) to be in this era. I remember him when it was just black and white tv. Telling my age aren't I.

Your soooo kind!!!! Thank You Thank You!!! I am in my mid 30's now. I loved Captain Kangroo. I cant remember the name of it, but maybe y'all can tell me. Remember Captain Kangroo telling everyone that his kitten (But was a lion or tiger) had gone in that mouse hole. Then grew up and was to big to come back out? That thing scared me so bad!!! I remember seeing the big "paw" come out of that mouse hole, growling and hissing. What was that cats name? 1 of my other favs was "Simon". He was the chalk drawing. Oh!!! And the moose that would always trick Captain Kangroo and he would get ping-pong balls dropped on him. That was an AWESOME show!!! Kids TV is so diff now

I have fond memories of watching his show on a 12-inch-black-and-white tv set while growing up. Just waiting for all of those ping-pong balls to fall on him. The magic drawing board was neat to watch too! He was preceded in death many years ago by Mr. Greenjeans too.
