Property Tax Bills are ready to view.

Recommended Posts

Down about $400 from 2015, but that's because the property value was changed to be a little closer to reality this year from the silly high number last year.

Still about $100 more than 2014 however.

Almost exactly the same as the 2008 taxes.

2012=$1266

2013=$1509

2014=$2052

2015=$2116

2016=$2497

That doesn't make sense. Our highest was in 2008 then dropped to its lowest and slowly began to rise.

Maybe you should dispute it, unless you are constantly adding property value.

My rental house, we transferred to Tx. 7 years ago. A fence and storage shed is the only "upgrades".

Looked at my mortgage statement tonight. Between taxes and Insurance, my escrow is now over $550 a month.

Even if Uncle Bern paid off my house for me right now, I'll STILL have to make $550 a month payments just to cover taxes and insurance.

I'm not sure this home ownership thing is all it's cracked up to be....
