Mrs. Betty Jean Holbrook, age 85, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016, following a lengthy illness.

 

Mrs. Holbrook was born in Marietta, GA, on April 10, 1930, the daughter of the late Aubrey Johnson and Velma Turner Johnson. She had been a resident of Paulding County for a number years and was a long time member of North Paulding Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Holbrook was associated with Bellsouth for a number of years as an operator. She loved art, paintings making ceramics and sewing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her husband.

 

Mrs. Holbrook is survived by her husband of 69 years, Charles Holbrook, whom she married on January 23, 1947; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gary Hendrix of Dallas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Janet Holbrook of Marietta, and Danny and Tina Holbrook, of Paulding County; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kenneth and Danielle Holbrook of Marietta, Brian and Sara Holbrook of Kennesaw, GA, Scott Holbrook of Paulding County, Andy Hendrix of Atlanta, GA, and Justin and Jessica Wesley of Dallas; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Holbrook, Avery Holbrook, Addison Holbrook and Evan Holbrook; one sister and Brother-in-law, Bonnie and Charles Jenkins of Blairsville, GA.

 

A memorial service for Mrs. Holbrook will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the North Paulding Baptist Church with Pastor Rev. Thomas Cole officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service hour.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in honor of Mrs. Holbrook to the North Paulding Baptist Church Building Fund.
