Murder for hire? Nothing a little probation can't fix. I'm not sure a father that did this would be found fit to retain custody of their daughter with the mother making child support payments to help pay for the next attempt on her life.

HARTFORD— A Connecticut woman charged with hiring a hit man to kill her ex-husband during a child custody dispute has been sentenced to five years of probation in a plea deal.

Thirty-nine-year-old Tiffany Stevens was sentenced in Hartford Superior Court on Monday, eight months after a jury deadlocked in her attempted-murder case. The hit was never carried out.

She previously pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of inciting injury to persons.

Police in Simsbury said Stevens paid a handyman $5,000 to kill her ex-husband, Eric Stevens, but the handyman didn’t carry it out.

Sounds like a Fred Tocar case, turned around, but Fred didn't have to serve life in prison, in this case.

Fred Tokars succeeded in having his ex killed and he is still in prison. He didn't retain custody.

What a plea deal she got, though, DVbP!

It wasn't her fault she didn't succeed. She incited murder, not an injury.
