How old is Thad ? He has been put through so much the last few years it is remarkable he has managed to keep such a positive attitude my hat goes off to the man. My best wishes to him and his family.

I just got a note from Melissa... They will be preparing Thad for surgery. I do not know anything else.

I'm really sorry to hear this. He has been through so much with his health in such a short period of time. I know what the family is going through as I went through something very similar with my mother recently. The poor gal had surgery 3 times in 5 months for hernia repairs and then a month after the last surgery, she had to have another for an obstructed colon that was followed by a blood infection. Mom is 80 and it was a really rough time for her.

When I saw this I called Melissa, because yesterday he was in no shape for surgery.

She said that they have called off the surgery because he is so unstable and it would be too dangerous.

Instead, they are using medication to see if they can get the ileum working.

I'm praying it works.

I'm at the hospital now. Not much change from post#44. Thad and Melissa need prayers. Please continue to do so. I know you all care so much about the Morrisons.

I love them, even though I didn't personally associate much. Thad is a great man, and Melissa is a great woman. Melissa's arrest, in Paulding county, affected me, very much. I was familiar with her desire to try to get some justice, but there was none.

I love Thad, too! He is my mentor, in so many ways, even though I haven made him aware of that fact. :give_rose:

Thad just left for Kennestone.

Melissa went with him. (of course)

It is my understanding they moved him for several reasons.

I think part of it was Kennestone has some equipment they need and his surgeons are based there. (I am sure my explanation is not 100% complete)

It is also my understanding that they will 1st do some surgery on his stomach and then his lungs.

Melissa is hanging tough, but tired.

Thad is also hanging tough.

Keep the family, as I know everyone is, in your prayers.

Thad hit the jackpot in Melissa, she takes good care of her man.

(as well as being a sweetheart)

This was their daughter's post on Facebook about midnight tonight: "To those who may have wondered what was happening... dad was admitted to Paulding hospital on Tuesday because he was having trouble breathing, due to existing problems, an encounter with airborne particles last Saturday, and several subsequently fractured ribs. Since his situation has deteriorated, he is now on life support and has been transferred to Kennestone. They are closely monitoring his "situation". Please keep him, and us, in your thoughts."

I really hate to hear this as it sounds like he has gotten worse and the life support is part of the reason he was moved to Kennestone. He has been in my prayers for healing for a while now.

I'm posting this with permission.

As of this morning Melissa said.

"Just signed approval for a tracheotomy tube.

They are putting it in so he can breath better"

Now they are waiting for his guts to wake up. As I said earlier, it's the ileum.

There are a lot of issues going on.

They really need your prayers.

I pray Lord for you to have your will, but we still need this family to help us too. The endurance, tolerance, love and determination they show is an inspiration to us.

I ask that they have a time of peace & relief, and to heal from all the earthly burdens they have seen.

They have a growing family that needs your healing arms to embrace them.

Amen

Well having had 2 brothers on the traech (sp), I have a lot of confidence in it. It looks and sounds ugly and scared the crap out of me; but it sure works great!!

I had a visit this afternoon. Thad looks a little better. They had him sedated heavily which was a good thing rather than watching him fight the breathing tube. Melissa seemed a lot more hopeful today.

They both need our prayers. Thad has multiple things going on at the same time and that is why he is so fragile.

I took Melissa to a break area to eat to get her out of the room. It is not good to agitate Thad while he is on the vent it makes him wake up enough to be uncomfortable,

She is an amazingly strong lady. She was overwhelmed with the 1000's of messages from people praying today.

She is so thankful for every kindness and good thought for them.

All we can do is continue to pray.
