Maine Gov. Paul Lepage is making the leeches work for it

Recommended Posts

I was six years old when my "step"father lost his job. We were living outside of Panama City, and as he was a commercial driver we sold every thing we could, and hit the road. Traveled all over the United States while he tried to find steady employment. We were broke, and mother and father did their very best for their two children. After an unfortunate incident in Maryland when someone decided that my brother and myself would be better off with the state instead of a ford clubwagon van we migrated back south to his home state of Georgia. He talked to an old Southwire buddy, and was able to get a job as a router operator with Royal Creations. We rented us a little trailer and for the next several years struggled. But because the federal government and state rendered assistance we were able to buy 3 acres and a single wide in 1987. So to think that every one is a leech, or that we should not provide help, should read about the great depression, the CCC's, and how the government can accomplish great things when we as a nation come together and stop fighting among political and financial classes. Not everyone knows what silver tastes like but soon enough we will all know what crap tastes like.

I was thinking of the CCC when I suggested picking up trash.

I have no clue why the federal government doesn't put something like that in place.

It not only gave a large portion of men jobs, it taught many of them skills, helped them support their families and at the same time helped them feel productive and contributing to society and the country.

Many of the state parks, lakes and other wonderful things that we have and enjoy all across this country is due to the men who were in the CCC.

It just makes sense.

What about genocide for the homeless ones, and then have the ones with addresses bury them?

Would that not make more conservative sense, stradial?

Well why don't you just give them your home address, and you support them?

I know a 27 yr old girl/child that has had 2 babies by two different baby daddies. She is more then happy to work at Starbucks, and collect whatever she can. No, she won't name the fathers. BTW this one has some college. But, why should she finish school or get a better job? After all Daddy gooberment will be more then happy to take care of her, and her kids.

I applaud the idea. But, not many places will hire you if you are living in a homeless shelter.

What you describe is what the system is supposed to do. Take the chip off your shoulder and comprehend what Is happening NOW. They are leeches. Sitting on their ass doing nothing for something. Gov. LePage is trying to get it back to what your family went through. I have zero problems helping those who are willing to help themselves.

If you are not willing to help yourself I wouldn't piss on your head if you were on fire.

I rather give it to the 1%. Heck that's where most of the money goes, I might as well give them what I have at my address, too!

Fugg the gooberment. They might want some of the stuff I have, at my address, before the 1% gets their hands on it.

The 1% gives the goobmerment what money they want them to have. You know they need the stuff, at my address, to pass a little on to the gooberment; don't you?

It's amusing to me how it seems that the more money one has the more time they seem to spend brooding over the thought of anyone else getting their hands on any of it.

With all your money Cranemec you would think you would have better things to do than to sit around sulking over that measly six percent of your tax dollars that is used to help the poor .

Do I understand correctly that a person's right to care about what happens to the money that they earn or have, is waived when they reach a certain level of wealth?

Or that they are no longer afforded the same rights to question or help decide what the government does with their tax money also?

That seems to be the attitude of too many in this country, you earned it or acquired it legally, but when you get to a certain level, it becomes the right of those who have less to decide what to do with it and those people always seem to think it should be taken away and given to others, many of which have never tried to earn it themselves.

I think someone already named this type of government, socialist.

I don't think hating the wealthy will do the trick, concentrate more on hating the poor.

stradial hates the rich, but doesn't want them to know he does. It would scare hell outta stradial for a rich man to think he hates him. So, he goes around pretending he loves the SOB's!

Please leave my name out of your posts.

I try hard not to mention you, so please return the favor.

I remember reading a very enlightening book once, maybe around the year 1984, my big brother tried to keep me from realizing the truths it held, but I did. And the proles that received their air dropped candy, porn, and other vices left those in power alone. I see some resemblance of this story in my life today, you want drugs, you got them, you want porn, we'll pay for your internet, you want and we'll give as long as you do not interfere with our goal, we like power and shall keep that power. We shall suppress anything or anyone that threatens our power, even if that means we break laws to help assimilate people to our new way of thinking instead of the traditional way. We will control all. Eurasia is the enemy not eastasia. Bow down for the party. Be a proud oceanian.

Wait we are now at war with eastasia never was at war with eurasia, whomever is spreading those lies most be reeducated.

If you ain't read Orwell in the last decade you should pick up a copy.
