Arm update- not the news I wanted

Recommended Posts

Went back to doc today.

They've put me in a long arm cast for 2 weeks.

Then 6-8 in a short cast if all goes well and nothing shifts.

Not only do I have radial head fracture at elbow, I also have scaphoid fracture in my wrist that the doc is more concerned about.

She said this particular type of wrist fracture is very hard to see until swelling has settled down.

That's why they waited 2 weeks to X-ray my wrist again.

So......not what I wanted to hear, but is what it is.

On the plus side, I figured if I have to be in a cast, it might as well be PINK!!!!

Hows that voice to text thingy working out for you ?

Dragon works pretty good.

It's not perfect but it's really good and allowing me to keep working.

I've cut my hours back some though.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that! Hopefully things will heal well!!!! Did you get your pain meds? Hope you sleep better.

I did.

And thanks!

Long arm casts SUCK!!! My son and his son have both had long arm casts before. Heck, my son fell and broke both wrists at one time a few years back. He was helpless for a few weeks. Luckily, one was worse than the other, so they put one of them in a brace after a couple of weeks.

I had a friend many years ago that used to competition roller skate and she fell and broke both wrists at the same time and had 2 long arm casts at the same time. At that point--you are totally depending on somebody else. Imagine trying to go to the bathroom with 2 long arm casts???

Good luck with yours Blondie!!
