Charleston Restaurants

Recommended Posts

Haven't been to Chraleston in years and are going sometime in June. Need recommendations on good seafood places and other to eat. Not tourist places. Used to go to Crab House and Shem Creek Bar & Grill but not even sure if they are still there. What recommend to do? Will take carriage ride, go to market place,Folly Beach and Middleton. Suggestions please.

The Early Bird Diner. It was featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive ins, & Dives. The pecan crusted chicken tenders are amazing.

Well I was going to recommend a place called Queen Anne's Revenge, which was actually located on Daniel island, but it has closed since we have been. It had excellent food!

We also ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp while we were their and enjoyed it, but this is a huge tourist place so if you don't want that stay far far away.

I absolutely love Charleston! Hope you have a good trip!!

Hymans is really for seafood. It is downtown, I think.

It is as downtown as you can get.

Not bad, been a top ten restaurant forever.

I am going in June also. Can't seem to find any motels on the beach that aren't outrageous. Any suggestions?

They're always outrageous for the summer season. We always used to go on vacation the week before Memorial Day, much cheaper, and we would stay out on the Isle of Palms.

Charleston is my favorite place to visit, but we haven't been in a few years.

Good luck!

The Peninsula Grill is amazing. There is also a Noisy Oyster downtown - I love their shrimp and okra gumbo!!

I was born and raised in Charleston. I had a subscription to Charleston Magazine until last year. Go to charlestonmag.com/dining/guide

You should find all the information you need there. One of my favorite restaurants downtown is Fleet Landing. 186 Concord St. 722-8100

Hope you have a wonderful time.

Circa 1886. Chef's Menu. With the wine pairings. Wonderful.
