National Guard Halts training at airport

Recommended Posts

That video is ridiculous on so many levels. And what was that stupid tirade at the end about 'not understanding what we're fighting for'? She doesn't give a whit about the national guard training there, she just thinks pulling out the PTSD card will help stop the airport expansion. Pretty sad if you ask me. What a cow.

What a spineless, brainless, [edited] woman. If ya'll want this "stop the airport" movement to have any credibility whatsoever, you need to dump dumbass bitches like Patti Smith. Look at her emotions...the seriousness with which she charged that the National Guard is all part of a conspiracy to force commercial air into Paulding. Unbelievable. She needs to take her fat, ugly ass to Afghanistan for a few months and get a taste of some real PTSD.

Gimme a bullet...I don't care....this dumbass made the ATL news....and if you think they put her on there to create empathy for the plight of the citizens of Paulding county, you'd be wrong...that was aired to make each and every one of us to look as trucking dumb and out-of-touch as that trucking idiot....maintain the ole "Paulding is a bunch of hicks" meme.

This will cost me but the hell with it. All of you venomous jerks that act so righteous can get off Patti s back and go TRUCK yourselves. You constantly ridicule and demean people. You know nothing of this lady, or her desire to stop anything. And I have served this country and take no offense to her actions. You all should be ashamed of yourself and stop hiding behind a relatives service to this country like you sacrificed a damn thing. A bunch of pocket holding sissies who think that an in law or cousins sacrifice will justify your touting God and Country. Go to hell with the bunch of.

I know you are upset with the video and article...BUT I HATE THAT WORD, AND I'M SURE OTHER WOMEN DO TOO. I JUMPED ON ANOTHER POSTER BECAUSE OF IT ABOUT A YEAR AGO, WHICH ENDED UP BEING A MISUNDERSTANDING. BUT, DON'T SAY THAT NASTY WORD ON HERE. I DON'T CARE HOW MAD YOU GET AT A FEMALE, YOU DON'T CALL HER THAT. THAT WAS DISCUSTING, DEGRADING, UNCALL FOR, AND DISRESPECTFUL!!!

Shut up! If you are going to swear at the people in this thread for voicing their opinions on how they feel about what was done by YOUR FRIEND, then you deserve to be told to shut up!

No one and I repeat no one done anything to her, she brought all this on her self!!!!

More disgusting, degrading, uncalled for, and disrespectful than accusing our National Guard of bullying her into accepting Allegiance Air flights into Paulding and comparing the noise over her house to serving in Afghanistan? I disagree. Truthfully, I never say that word. I used it for effect...to show that throwing around words for impact, like "PTSD" [edit]", is rarely, if ever, appropriate.

I want to know how she got a doctor to diagnose her with PTSD. She is good, people, pay attention. She accused the BOC being sneaky, well, look what she was sneaking around doing.....Wonder how long this has been in the works.

She has made a name for herself in this town, and made Paulding County look even worse than it did before. Nice going Patti Smith.

Why don't you just move, because at the end, I don't know if you will be welcomed in Paulding. AND THIS IS COMING FROM A DAMN YANKEE....!!!!!!!!!

Considering your lack of wit and spelling prowess, you were obviously Army. That's OK...we can't all be airmen ;)

USAF 94-98

US Air Force Rules:

1. Have a cocktail.

2. Adjust temperature on air-conditioner.

3. See what's on HBO.

4. Ask "what is a gunfight?"

5. Request more funding from Congress with a "killer" Power Point presentation.

6. Wine & dine 'key' Congressmen, invite DOD & defense industry executives.

7. Receive funding, set up new command and assemble assets.

8. Declare the assets "strategic" and never deploy them operationally.

9. Hurry to make 13:45 tee-time.

10. Make sure the base is as far as possible from the conflict but close enough to have tax exemption.

US Army Rules:

1. Curse bitterly when receiving operational order.

2. Make sure there is extra ammo and extra coffee.

3. Curse bitterly.

4. Curse bitterly.

5. Do not listen to 2nd LT's; it can get you killed.

6. Curse bitterly.

US Navy Rules:

1. Go to Sea.

2. Drink Coffee.

3. Deploy Marines

US Army Rangers Rules:

1. Walk in 50 miles wearing 75 pound rucksack while starving.

2. Locate individuals requiring killing.

3. Request permission via radio from "Higher" to perform killing.

4. Curse bitterly when mission is aborted.

5. Walk out 50 miles wearing a 75 pound rucksack while starving.

Navy SEAL's Rules:

Marine Corps Rules:

1. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one.

2. Decide to be aggressive enough, quickly enough.

3. Have a plan.

4. Have a back-up plan, because the first one probably won't work.

5. Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet even your friends…

6. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun whose caliber does not start with a "4."

7. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive.

8. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral & diagonal preferred.)

9. Use cover or concealment as much as possible.

10. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.

11. Always cheat; always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.

Ha!

Man, not to get off topic, but it's ridiculous the difference between branches. I was in a mobile combat comm unit so, despite the fact we were USAF, we still did field exercises and such, but nonetheless, the differences were astounding. For example, it was 1995 and I was deployed to Prince Sultan AB, Saudi Arabia. I spent less than a week in the middle of nowhere in a tent and then they moved us. They moved us to Riyadh...to a villa...there were 5 of us sharing a house...I had my own bedroom...a kitchen...living room...marble floors...it was pretty damn nice. I would ride a bicycle to work, to the chow hall, to the gym, etc. I remember one morning heading out on my bike to one of our radio systems that had the controls in another villa. I heard shouting out the back window and had a look. There was about 35-40 Army folks, at 6am, in formation, doing PT and being yelled at by their sergeant. I turned to my sergeant, who I called by his first name, and told him how glad I was I chose the USAF.

First understand that I am not in favor of commercialization of the airport. FTR if we had been living here before the airport I would've voted against it.

PTSD is a very real mental health issue, and quite frankly I take offense to anyone claiming this who does not indeed have it. Our veterans have suffered too long, and now that it is FINALLY recognized as a true condition, I feel that her claims (unless she can truly show that the training is the cause of her statements) not only an affront to anyone who truly suffers, and an insult to those of us who are the support system of some one with PTSD.

On a side note, there is a group that is trying to get the D dropped from PTSD.

I was living here when the airport was put on the ballot.... it was soundly defeated. Still here we are.

Jesus trucking Christ. Did you actually read my posts?

First, I haven't demeaned or ridiculed anyone. Second, I am not hiding behind anyone or their service. Third, I was asserting Ms. Smith is full of sheeze and her likening her self afflicted dumb-assery to PTSD and war is a load of sheeze.
