kids without christmas

Recommended Posts

You know, I SHOULD NOT have said what I said, people have it hard these days but, not asking for help for your children at Christmas is just NOT cool. I should have kept my opinion to myself!!! Please forgive me IF I offended amyone, I'm sure I did. Please accept my apology!!

These parents should NOT even be called Parents!!!! If they can't even ASK for help, knowing it's out there!!! Maybe they need to attend Parenting classes. Do they work? Do they cook for these children? sending a pm..............I agree but my heart is thinking about the kids and im going to deal with tne other issues at hand.

Jeesh I hate that. Sad for the kids; but I lived through times like that and it can make you stronger and more appreciative. It still hurts my heart, though.

Thanks there are some other things going in with this family but I want the kids to be happy at Christmas and then tje other things will get addressed Rt after

Playing Devil's advocate here, but maybe they don't celebrate Christmas? Not everybody has to buy gifts for their kids for Christmas, it doesn't make them bad parents. Maybe they are tired of the commercialism and consumerism and would rather teach their kids to be responsible with what little money they have.

Of course, this is all speculation based on the minimal amount of info the OP provided. I could be way off base.

Yes they do believe in Christmas they however put themselves first . They are not working mom lost job few months ago ,dad lazy .my issue is the mother didnt take out time to ask for the assistance that is available. And tells her kids Santa sled broke down and may not make it at Christmas . I have been praying on how to approach her about that but my main concern is making sure kids will have a Christmas. And thanks to some great people here on PC . Things may happen. If I would have known sooner I would have signed them up my self for some assistance but I found out last NT that the mother didnt do nothing.

Meh. Not having presents in Christmas is by far not the worst thing a child can experience.

Perpetuating the lie that Santa Claus brings presents is total bullspit in my opinion. If the parents are broke and choose food over toys, the kids should appreciate that. Not accepting charity is a parents choice.

Damn, you pretty much said the same I was going to. There's plenty of kids that don't get Xmas on purpose or because other expenses need to come first.

U have no idea. No getting presents is not what Christmas is all about but somewhere in history that is what become of it. My plans are to take them to a Christmas musical play at my sisters church in Rockmart on c eve. Parents did not ask for charity cause they sleep in till noon they didnt get up in time. U feel me

Kids used to be happy getting some candy, fruit, and other small things. Stores commercialized Xmas and made it about giving more and more gifts over time.

I have plenty of ideas. Most of them revolve around respecting people's privacy when it comes to money matters and their nonharmful parenting practices.

It's nice to care about your neighbors. Taking the kids to church on Christmas Eve is a very nice thing.

It would have also been nice if you'd left it at that.

My kids get socks, underwear, undershirts, and pajama pants. And I'm not broke or lazy.

To each their own.

I think it is a great thing you are trying to do for others....Not just about presents but helping less fortunate

I'm a firm believer in helping. I just don't believe in talking ugly about people who aren't given the opportunity to tell their side of the story.

It's possible to ask for help on behalf of others without dragging them through the mud in the process.

My mom taught me that. :)

I want to just say thanks to the ones who sent PMS and pointed me in the Rt direction. And im sure the kids will be blessed at Christmas no matter what.

I got the same response, cookie, when I put out a last minute plea for help. That's Pcom for ya! But luckily, PAULDING.COM IS NOT A GOOD REPRESENTATIVE OF OUR COMMUNITY!! And I THANK GOD for the Angels around here, that's for sure!!

Good luck with this family. I will PM you this evening if MY group of Christmas Angels is able to come up with anything.

:( Hopefully, if there is neglect going on (and it sounds like there may be, since this isn't the first time you have stepped in) DFACS will become involved. I sent you a PM with some items I have for the 8 YO. I have a "old" playstation 2 game that may work for the boy (obviously it won't be new). Let me know if I can help

Glad everyone is all taken care of.
