Mr. Thomas Franklin Carnes, age 72 of Dallas Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA.

 

Mr. Carnes was born in Toccoa, GA , on February 22, 1939 the son of beloved parents, the late Mr. Samuel Franklin Carnes and Mrs. Henri Tee Long Carnes. He was a graduate of Campbell High School. He later continued his education at The American College of Technology where he studied to be a draftsman. He worked as a Master Printer for 50 years, over 40 of those were spent with W.R. Bean and Son. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Mr. Carnes enjoyed woodworking and spending time outdoors. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Mr. Carnes will be well remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and will be missed by many.

 

Mr. Carnes is survived by his loving wife whom he married in 1964 Mrs. Jessie Lee Smith Carnes of Dallas, GA; three daughters Mr. & Mrs. Marcus (Kim) Kelly of Bremen, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Lally (Jennifer) Jawo of Dallas, GA, and Mr. & Mrs. Dennis (Amy) Cook of Dallas, GA; two sisters Mrs. Kay Conner of Gray, GA, and Mr. & Mrs. Gene (Rebecca) Sanges of Ellijay, GA; seven grandchildren Specialist Thomas James "TJ" Kelly, and Avery Kelly both of Bremen, GA, Private Benjamin Taylor "Critter" Cook, Dawson Cook. Logan Cook, Gabriel Jawo, Lily Jawo all of Dallas, GA; nieces, nephews, and many other beloved family members and friends.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Franklin Carnes will be conducted on Sunday March 13, 2011 at 3 pm in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral with Reverend Larry Parish officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Debbie Parish, Tony McAdams, and Sharon Willingham. Pall bearers will include Marcus Kelly, Dennis Cook, Lally Jawo, Logan Cook, Avery Kelly, Scott Carroll and Brian Carroll. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 4 – 9 pm and Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 9 am until the service begins at 3 pm.
