All of the area Christmas light shows should also be going by then.

Hi all,

Looking for ideas...my dad is coming from overseas for the week of thanksgiving,I am looking for stuff to do.

He has done the "touristy stuff".

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

He might just want some quality time with you. I like the idea of the light shows. Stone Mountain or Lanier Islands should have theirs by then and you won't have to drive a long distance to get there.

Many international visitors find our local Civil War history interesting. You will have to chase it down on line, but there is an "Self Tour" pamplet available from one of the local historical groups that gives you all the directions to go and visit the battlefield sites of New Hope Church, Dallas, and Pickett's Mill. These were "small" battles by Civil War standards, but none the less, thousands died and were wounded in some horrific fighting.

The entrenchments behind the Chamber of Commerce on the south side of the Silver Comet Trail are unmatched, and at Thanksgiving when the foilage has died back, they are clearly visible.

And if interested, you could to to Kennesaw Mountain as well.
