Cathyhelms
So is this not negative campaigning on Stout's side?? Seems like tit for tat to me.
NewsJunky
http://www.upholdlib...n-daniel-stout/ That is more a campaign piece by someone who supports Daniel Stout than it is an article about Steve Golden. They can say what they want about the flier that went out but they can't say it wasn't the truth. I think it is very likely that Daniel will win and if he does it will be because those who vote for him are okay with all of this. I can't see that as a bad thing.

NewsJunky
Just curious why you think Stout will win? I thought being an incumbent would be a negative this year? He has a great campaign staff and some very hard workers. That does not mean that I don't think his Opponent would do a good job and have less focus on the one agenda that I worry he will spend to much time focusing on. If he wins I hope that he proves me wrong.
Cabe
Way to go. I won't respond to the flier, I'll just let my campaign staff do it for me. Daniel, the flier was sent by Steve's campaign too. Please show us the article where Golden promised he would not discuss the FACTS. He wants to talk about sticking to his promises to the people. However, with his 40+ missed votes did he have permission from the people he represents to be absent?

eym_sirius
Here's what I got from this, upon first reading. Mr Stout in proclaiming to take the high road, took the low road. He explained to me his business was being audited and he felt like it was important to be there. Then the time he missed he had permission. Now think about it as iformed as the voters are would you risk a bad voter record? and up for re-election. So this sounds like a good answer,I met him several times and I feel the man has his act together. I also think he is solid. That race has great choices in it,the people will decide come tomorrow but please let's all vote and ask your friends & neighbors to vote too

LisaC
He explained to me his business was being audited and he felt like it was important to be there. So, what is more important to Mr. Stout - his job at the bank or representing Paulding County????? Missing key votes, whether excused or not, is still missing key votes. Missing key votes, whether excused or not, is still missing key votes. He has now quit his job and calls himself a "consultant". So, the job was VERY important at the time, but maybe a month later, not so much. Just sayin.
surepip
Did he explain why he voted NO on a Bill that could help the transportation problems in Paulding County? A step further: Why he voted no on a bill that would have put helping the transportation problems in Paulding on the ballot in the way of a referendum so WE could vote if we wanted to pay more but get some reasonable transportation funding. I would have liked to have been able to vote on this at least. I heard Avery speak and i'll be backing him.. I have been impressed with Mr Avery as well. Builder, Banker, former BOE member, or an educator ? With what is facing the state and paulding the next couple of years I kind of like the idea of an educator representing us under the Gold Dome, and I have no kids left in school. Avery is very much in the style of our 1970s/1980s Dixiecrats and has his roots in rural SE Georgia.
NewsJunky
I will be voting for a conservative Republican who told the truth and stood behind it by putting his name to it. I will not vote for someone in the same party with Obama.

dlstout
Lemme clear this up a bit. Yes, Ron Davis is a supporter of mine... and a good friend. However, I was not at all involved in the writing or publishing of this blog post. As a matter of fact, when I read it I asked him to go back and tone it down because there were some things said which I thought were not necessary. But I did not have ANYTHING to do with the content to that point. I have been encouraging all of my supporters to stay issues focused and positive this whole campaign. I have turned down several opportunities to go really, really personal / negative when people came forward with "helpful information" on both of my opponents. I was the first to condemn the KSU crazy who was trying to smear Paullette. I think we have done a great job as a campaign of focusing on the issues and I am proud of the race we've run. I've done my best. I will happily look forward to the results, however they turn out. -Daniel Stout 770-655-7750
surepip
And most of us are aware that you voted for Obama... Excuse me ma'am, but you would be in error. I did vote for Clinton though, both times. Partly from the huge lobbying effort put forth by the poultry industry, partly based on the opposition. And, for me at least, the 1990s were the best we ever had in business. And if you are keeping tabs, I voted against Carter for Governor as well. I don't look at the party near as much as I look at what sort of a representative the individual will make.

JuliaG
Oh I know he promised to create some jobs, And probably promised not to hire any Illegals in his home building profession!!!! Now that's funny. Doubt he'd be stupid enough to make a promise like that when anyone whose house he built knows their house was built almost solely by illegals.... (On a positive note, we did ask Mr. Golden to make sure the workers didn't leave any "souvenirs" in the basement, and thankfully they didn't... so in spite of my general opinion of Mr. Golden and my relief that he didn't win yesterday, I will say that is one promise he kept!)
