gpatt0n
For those who don't know, HB1405 creates a committee that is being given the ability to rewrite Georgia's Tax Code including removing exemptions, eliminating entire types of taxes, etc. The result will be specific legislation that will be reported to a special joint committee of the House and Senate that will report the final bill to the floor of the house for an up and down vote early in January 2011. The bill reported to the house and senate will not be subject to amendment; just an up and down vote. There are no rules as to what they may come up. pubby

solosoul
Sounds like they can come up with anything they want but it is the UP and Down vote that will count.

surepip
Frasier did one hell of a job putting together the group to help Atlanta get the Olympic Games, and the group who managed building the housing, venues and operating the games as well as getting Centennial Park built. All at a profit for the city when the dust settled. Maybe some good can come out of this.
