He lives in Bowling Green, Kentucky, there is a town not far from there named London, that is where my father's family is from. Many of my relatives still live there. Maybe that's what he meant when he was talking about London.

Sorry, I wasn't on last night.

Where did you see London? Yes the wife and I were planning a trip there as DGITW said, but never lived there.

Are you talking about Windsor near London Ontairo? I know your from Michigan so maybe that is what your thinking of? I didn't live in Windsor just hang out at the Casino with some friends when I go back home.

I have lived in...

Clarkston, MI

Detroit, MI

Rochester Hills, MI

Royal Oak, MI

Flint, Mi

Atlanta, Ga

Smyrna, Ga

Dallas, Ga

Morgantown, Ky

I worked in Pontaic Mi, and currently work in Bowling Green Ky which is right down the road from Morgantown so its easier just to say I live in Bowling Green.

EDIT: I also spent a summer in San Antonio, Tx. as an intern with the Brewers scouting baseball.

Now that must have been awesome. I know I would enjoy a job like that. All I want is to wake up every day excited about what I do for a living. I have never felt like that my entire life.

It was great. My Uncle is the Southwest regional scout for them and I was his gopher/intern. Lived in a hotel for three months and went to countless high school, college and minor league games. A lot of fun.

That must be one of the most difficult industries to break in to; you almost have to be a former player or have some kind of connection. An outsider seems to have almost zero chance of ever being considered.

He was a catcher, never had made it to the show but spent 7 years in the minors after a decent college career. I wanted to get into scouting so bad but even with my inside connection it was not meant to be. I did the intern thing and then got the "sorry son, we aren't looking for more scouts" letter.

That's too bad. I've applied for some positions at the MLB offices in NYC. I doubt I'll ever hear back, but it's worth a shot. I should have asked the Atlanta Braves or the Rome Braves for an internship under the GA Works program; I wonder if they would have had any interest.

I have, a lot of times when I look back at everything I have had a chance to do I think to myself "if someone told me all this I wouldn't believe half of the stuff they were saying." Just born into the right family in the right place at the right time.

Spring training already started! I just got the MLB radio package, $20 for the year. I just wish I had some money to go to FL or AZ for the spring games.

You can't see what happens... wouldn't that suck if something cool happened and all you could do is listen to how awesome it was instead of seeing it

Baseball is the ONLY sport I can listen to on the radio, football sometimes. Its a throwback to how it used to be. Baseball was made for the radio.

Ok, well for one, it's always been men doing the announcing at baseball games. Opportunities for women in broadcasting are still very limited.

I'm not misogynistic, but frankly, I don't want to hear a woman on the radio. Maybe one will come along that will change things for me, but I grew up listening to announcers like Vin Scully (Dodgers baseball), Chick Hearn (Lakers basketball), and even Ernie Harwell (Angels, 1992) for a year. You listen to them so often, they almost become a member of the family. I know people felt the same way about the Careys, Mel Allen, Red Barber, Jerry Coleman, etc.

We refer to that year as the year baseball died in Detroit. Ernie was the voice all of us new as the Tigers on the radio and Al Kaline on TV. It was just so wrong not hearing him do games because the owner wanted to "change things up"

I like LOve me some Hockey... does that get me a few brownie points

Does with me, Hockey is my first love in terms of watching sports. I can't skate, can't play it at all but I love to watch it. Then Baseball then football.

I don't think he's lived in London...I think that he and his wife were planning a trip there at some point?

I'm sure he'll chime in, he's the Uncle Matt (Fragle Rock reference) of pcom.

Oh sheeze, I just saw this. I may have to change my avator to that.

I Like going to The Gladiators the best but I will not pass up a chance to see the Thrashers either.

They make me smile

Yeah, lose Inge. Won't he set the Tigers all-time strikeout record this year?

And the Tigers have been around a long time!

He will but he is also the only player left from the dark years which is a big reason why, talk about rushing a kid into being a starter before his time. He is a grinder and does a lot for the city, I got nothing but respect for him.

That's true. He is a good guy, just like Granderson was for Detroit. Better than Cabrera...
