DCA Workshops

November – December 2009

 

We have new workshops starting here at the Dallas Cultural Arts! You can choose from Art, Theatre, Spanish and Photography. All workshops will be starting the 1st of November and run through the end of the year- no class the week of Thanksgiving.

 

Interested in music lessons? Private Music is continual and you can start at any time! Give us a call or come by for more information and registration.

 

Teen: 12-17 yrs.

 

Spanish: “Conversation Basics”, Monday 7:00 pm

Six weeks: 1 hour per week

Lessons are aided by the use of a friendly Spanish textbook that allows students to get acquainted with the language and the culture bypassing cumbersome grammar rules. We also use a conversation group that allows students to acquire fluency while having fun, exchange impressions with other students and with the instructor.

 

 

Photography: “Professional Basics”, Thursday 7:00 pm

Six weeks: 1 hour per week

Become your own Professional Photographer. Get to know your digital camera better- take it from factory auto to custom manual setting. Learn tips on how to take better pictures using lighting, cropping, editing & more

 

Theatre: "Act 1", Wednesday 7:00 pm

Six weeks: 1 hour per week

The Creative V.I.B.E.S are the focus of class study. Voice, Imagination, Body language, Ensemble, & Story line are discussed and performed using teen drama games and theatre basics.

 

Theatre: “Act 2”, Wednesday 6:00 pm

Six weeks: 1 hour per week

Using the V.I.B.E.S. that we developed in “Act 1”, we will delve more into scene work, and character development in “Act 2” as well as training in audition techniques.

 

Art: “Minors to Masters”, Tuesday 6:00 pm

Six weeks: 1 hour per week

Students in this class will learn how to create a painting from preliminary sketches to finished product. Students will be challenged to consider shape, color, proportion, composition and self-expression in their artwork. Subject matter will be the student’s choice.
