From this day to the ending of the world,

But we in it shall be remembered-

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

For he to-day that sheds his blood with me

Shall be my brother.......

RIP

We walked among the crosses

Where our fallen soldiers lay.

And listened to the bugle

As TAPS began to play.

The Chaplin led a prayer

We stood with heads bowed low.

And I thought of fallen comrades

I had known so long ago.

They came from every city

Across this fertile land.

That we might live in freedom.

They lie here 'neath the sand.

I felt a little guilty

My sacrifice was small.

I only lost a little time

But these men lost their all.

Now the services are over

For this Memorial Day.

To the names upon these crosses

I just want to say,

Thanks for what you've given

No one could ask for more.

May you rest with God in heaven

From now through evermore.

Both of my sons went to school with Ryan. He is an inspiration to the young people of our community.

RIP SPC Ryan King We will line our streets with flags in your honor.

Our prayers go out for his family.

Dear Father, draw them close and give them peace.

Wow - just wow. My nephew just returned from Iraq last month. I was on pins and needles the entire time he was gone. My heart goes out to this family. I am saddened for them and for our community as a whole because we have ALL lost a fine young man.

My prayers are with this young mans family and friends he was so young but yet he died for all of us.

I don't know this family but can't help but think his mom was in Verizon the other day when I was in there. Only because she was so excited because her son was over in Afghanistan and was able to buy a cell phone she was so happy to be able to talk to him! I'm sure she kept saying his name was Ryan and that the young kid helping her knew him from school (he looked early 20s). If this was his family I could tell in his mommas’ voice that she was so proud of him!! My thoughts and prayers go out to you, you have beeon on my mind all day! ((hugs))

Between this poem and the circumstances of this topic, I'm weepy and more heartbroken for this family. R.I.P Ryan...May God bless you and your family.

My husband is currently at his mobilization station, where they go immediatley before deployment to complete training, he flies out for Kabul Afghanistan mid June.

This scares me to death.

RIP Ryan, you are truly a hero, thank you for fighting for our country, thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice.

I will gladly stand on any road, anywhere to support any soldier.

Thank your brave husband for all of us. We can never repay him for what he is doing. May God give you peace, while he is gone.

RIP Ryan. May God wrap his arms around your family as they grieve your loss. Thank you for giving all.

And dear God, please keep those who are still serving safe. It may be selfish on my part, but I pray that not another soldier falls. But if it happens, may it lead to peace and freedom for many.

Has anyone got any info about when he will be home. I would love to stand and show my support this family. Has any funds been started for the family yet.

I ride with the PGR and WWR looks like Ryan will be coming home Sat to Peachtree Dekalb and the Patriot Guard will be escorting him to Hiram Funeral will be Mon or Tuesday not sure of times yet...Having been on many of these escorts and knowing many of these gold star families, if anyone can organize people being out on the streets with flags would be a wonderful sign of support...The family needs all the support they can get right now...

Ryan will be coming home on Saturday. We still have not been given the exact time of arrival. He will be coming into PDK and then going to Clark Funeral Home in Hiram. The visitation will be Monday at Clark and the funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00. He will be laid to rest in the GA National Cemetary in Canton, GA. Thank you to the people of Paulding County. You all have been a comfort to our family in these tough times. Your words of kindness and support have truly been a blessing.

Thank you again,

Ryan's Aunt Sandy

While no doubt this is hard for the family and being so close to home for us all, he gave more for his country than the rest of us have, and God Bless him!!! I'm sure there's a top seat in Heaven for a man with such bravery and love for a country who loves its freedom.

Rest In Peace, my fellow man! Prayers to the family. I can't imagine losing a child, but if I ever did, I can't think of a more noble way to sacrifice so much for the safety of a whole country. May God Bless you and your family. -_-

He has my honor and respect, and should have everyone else's too. I don't have the words to express my gratitude for the men in uniform......those people who chose to do their best to make sure we're all safe, while holding down our greatest trait as Americans....FREEDOM. -_-

so does anyone know the route the procession will take toward the cemetary in Canton on Tuesday? It would great if we could go ahead and start organizing a place for people to stand and salute Ryan as he goes by on his final ride to his resting place

Maybe Clarks can answer this question for us ???

I am getting conflicting reports. I have a message from someone in the military saying Ryan's funeral will be on Monday at 11. I would like to get the right facts so myself and 3 kids can pay our respects and line whatever road he will be brought down. Can someone confirm?

"SOME GAVE ALL..."

Thank you to Ryan and his family for giving us as Americans our freedom and paying the ultimate price. My heart aches for his family but most of all for his mom. I don't know you but my prayers and thoughts are with you as you mourn your son on Mother's Day. May God keep you in His grace and mercy.

PLEASE READ - FLAG LINE NEEDED

I have been on the phone and have made arrangements with officials to have this soldier routed through Hiram on Hwy 278. His estimated arrival time in Hiram will be approximately 12pm. I have already notified Hiram Police that we will be standing roadside honoring this soldier as he comes home to Paulding County.

On a side note there will be a large benefit charity ride staging in the K-Mart S/C. I organized this ride as well. I will be postponing this ride to stand guard as this soldier passes by. Please come and join our efforts.

Thanks for posting! I was wondering about this also.....

Is there a certain time/place we should get together at? I know you mentioned 12pm but should we start before that? And where? And I'm guessing you are talking about tomorrow right?
