Bus tour to showcase downtowns in 9 cities

Canton and eight other cities will have a chance to showcase their downtowns when the 2009 Heart and Soul Bus Tour rolls through parts of North Georgia Wednesday through April 17.

The tour, hosted by the Georgia Cities Foundation and other partners, puts the spotlight on downtown improvements that have resulted from public-private partnerships.

Other stops on the tour are Dallas, Rockmart, Rome, Calhoun, Cartersville, Dahlonega, Toccoa and Duluth.

If they haven't come to Dallas and you find out what day and time, we all should take a brown bag lunch to the square and sit on the sidewalk for lunch. A late protest about the closing of the downtown resturant.

Now that would make the Dallas politicians proud.

MOST EXCELLENT IDEA!!!! :spiteful: I'll be there!

They should include Braswell on the tour :D. They wouldn't even have to stop, well maybe to avoid the potholes. Nothing like our tax dollars at work.

Either that, or have everybody close down and leave when the bus is scheduled to come through. Turn the city into a ghost town (which it sounds like is the goal of the city politicians anyway.)
