Products being tested: Facial Elixir & Under Eye Cream

There are twelve of the finest ladies of P.com testing products for IGF for the next month. I am really excited about both of these products!   This blog is where we can chat about the products and they can share any of their insights as they go through the process of trying out the products.     FACIAL ELIXIR:   This wonderful facial oil is blended by me and contains Olive Squalane, Jojoba infused in Calendula, Meadowfoam Oil, Avocado Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Macadamia Oil. IGF's has new stuff coming!

Greetings from S. Georgia!   Beginning this coming week, I'll be in full production mode for the holidays. On top of the scents I normally carry, I'll be adding these new ones to the mix:   ~ Citrus Bliss: The base of this soap is Yuzu, which is a Japanese Grapefruit, and it has a very strong and bright fragrance. Unlike regular grapefruit, Yuzu is a hybrid of grapefruit and mandarin, so it's got additional perfume notes. But not just mandarin or tangerine, it's got a grapefruit blossom top

Hi, ho! Hi, ho! Off to make soap I go!

Hello Everyone!   IGF's soap barn (aka my soap studio) is a hopping place this afternoon.     I cut and put on the drying rack and new batch of Bamboo Verbena, and a new scent Dreamcatcher!   Cooking in the pot right now is a new batch of Granny's Pine Tar Soap.   Tomorrow will find me making lotion and bath-salts for the Family Fun Day this coming Sunday, July 22.   The next currently scheduled craft show will be Sept. 29, 2007 at the Second Annual Olde Towne Hiram day, in

A Monday Update on my Son

Say a prayer.... light a candle.... do a silly dance.... whatever you do spiritually speaking, remember Gareth and all of us on Thursday.   We're heading back to the Children's Hospital in Jax. on Thursday. He's going to have an endoscopy and a colonoscopy w/ biopsy. We're hopeful that this will be the final puzzle piece with this health. It'll either show nothing of significance which will indicate the IBS, or maybe it'll show something else, or irritation, etc. I'm just ready to know 100% wh

Back to Soaping!

Well, it's been over a month since I soaped anything. I think I was beginning to go through withdrawals!   Now that I've fully recovered from surgery, I thought today would be a perfect day to soap.   SOOOoo, today, in the soap pot we had:   ~ A test batch of my new "Save Face" soap, designed for people with skin that tends to be slightly oily, or has break-outs. This soap features cosmetic grade French Pink Clay, collodial oatmeal, honey, and the essential oils of Tea-Tree, Lavender

In the Mold!

Ok, I have four batches in the mold, that I should pop out of there tonight, cut, and get on the drying racks -- WOO HOO!! And they smell wonderful, if I say so myself. ~ Green Clover and Aloe: A terrific unisex scent, Green Clover & Aloe is a fresh, green fragrance that reminds me of wild summer herbs growing in a field. This fragrance is much more complex than it's name sounds. A floral fruity combination of fresh citrus and jasmine petals on a woodsy, sweet musk background. ~ Hawaiian

Thank you! (And a great secret!)

I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all the IGF Customers who have shared their personal comments about our products for our website. (Keep them coming!) I really appreciate your continued support, and encouragement. You are simply the best!     -------------------------------------------------------------------     Shhh! IGF's got a secret!     My soaps are going to be featured very soon as part of the "Cabin Life" Living History Program at the historic Pickett's Mill

Back in town!

We enjoyed our short break, a mini-vacation if you will, down to S. GA. It was great to spend some time with family on "home turf".   I'll be having surgery this coming Monday, so I'll have IGF "closed" for the week.   Thanks for all the well wishes and support.

Store back open!

Nope, we're not in the new house yet, nor our studio.... BUT I do have the store back open.   I've got a few more pics to get uploaded and descriptions added, but it is "open".     I'm sure inventory will fluctuate some as we're working on a "skeleton studio" versus our mondo one when it's built. Just have patience... the new studio IS coming.... and we promise to be bigger, and better than ever!     Thanks again for everyone's continued support back in Paulding County. Miss

We've made the move!

I thought I'd take a minute and post that our move is complete! Well, at least we've moved to Waycross, and settled in somewhat. It's a start. The next phase will be the building of our new home, and my new soap studio!   Hopefully by the end of summer, we'll have our new "Green-Home" [earth friendly, passive solar, energy efficient] completed, along with IGF's new "green" studio. I can't tell you how excited I am about this and getting my business back up and running down here. I've alre

I've been BLOGGED! Cool-beans.

IGF's soaps were recently featured in a fellow artist/crafter's blog, and I couldn't be more flattered, or excited about that. This is an IGF first!   Read Shai's Creations July 4th blog: http://mamashaiscreations.blogspot.com/   I believe in supporting fellow crafters and artisans. I love the art.craft community, having come out of the fine arts community education wise. It's a lot of fun to chat and share ideas, and to see what other amazing things creative folks are coming up with. Sh

Greetings!

How neat is this? A P.com BLOG for In Granny's Footsteps! Way to go Pubby, this is just cool-beans!     Well, Soapy is trying to get back into Granny's Footsteps, but I must admit.... it's harder to do than you think. A little over a week ago my MIL died after a battle with cancer. It really has taken it's toll on my family. We're all trying to be gentle with ourselves and also realistic.   So, I promise, it won't be long and I'll have more and more soap in the soap pot, and on the s

Sunday, March 4, '07 -- what's in the pot?

NOW, ON THE DRYING RACKS: Pictures coming soon!     Jasmine: A beautiful green-swirled (mica) soap, made with a fantasic jasmine blend fragrance oil. Light, floral, reminds me of those beautiful night-blooming plants.     Plumeria: This is a tropical fruit scent that is great for spring. The smell makes you want to wander onto the nearest plane and go island hopping. It's a sweet ambrosial nectar that is sure to please the most discerning nose. The soap is swirled like the petals of plum

Fisherman Soap

I have a batch of Fisherman Soap that is on the drying rack. It will be offered for sale soon via my hubby's sportsman website.   If you like the smell of licorice, you'll like this soap. It's made with Anise EO which not only covers human scent, but has been used by fisherman for a long time to attract FISH. Some even use this to wash hooks with! I also added a little bit of ground oatmeal to it for a little 'scrubby' action for hands. Perfect to carry in the tackle box, or leave on

New Scents Coming!

I placed an order this morning for a few new summer-time scents -- and I'm excited about them too!   Green Clover and Aloe: A terrific unisex scent, Green Clover & Aloe is a fresh, green fragrance that reminds me of wild summer herbs growing in a field. This fragrance is much more complex than it's name sounds. A Surprise Trip!

My dear hubby sprung a surprise on me last night. Not only will our son Dragonboy be leaving this weekend for a week away to Washington DC (gulp! This is the first time he's been away from us for this amount of time, and that far away... first time flying too!!!) BUT dear hubby and I will be going to Sandestin for a few nights! He won this trip last year and we only had a small amount of time left to use it or it would have expired, so just the two of us are going.   So, Soap'Granny won

Going on a short trip!

In Granny's Footsteps is going on a mini-vacation. I'll be gone from Saturday, March 31, 2007 until April 4th. "Granny" and hubby are slipping away to the beach for a few days. I'll come back relaxed and refreshed, and ready to mix up new delights for you!   For those of you traveling somewhere for spring break, have a safe trip, and a lot of fun!

The new scents have ARRIVED as of yesterday!!! WOOOO HOOO!   I'm psyched. I'm itching to start soaping them, but alas, I'll have to wait till next week. I'm so pumped up about all of them -- they are really nice oils, fantastic fragrances. I can't say which one is my favorite yet... each of them had something about them that I really liked. Life's a beach!

Soapy is going to be back in Paulding tomorrow --- and I'm feeling refreshed, renewed, and excited. I needed an injection of art, nature, and R&R.... ahhhhh! It was good!   Hope everyone is enjoying their spring break as well!

Working on a few new projects

When I'm not working on standard stocked soaps/products, I'm researching, formulating, or maybe even out wildcrafting herbs. Right now I'm harvesting wild-mullein from the sides of country roads. You may see it growing somewhere in Paulding County -- if you do, PM me with where you saw it!   These are things that I learned about that my Grandmother Mary would have done. Fortunately there is quite a bit of herbal information, folklore, etc. that have survived in the south. I so enjoy chatti
