Mrs. Ethel R. Roper, age 88, of Marietta, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2004. She was born on March 24, 1916 in Cherokee County, GA to the late Walter Jackson and Daisy E. Gunter. She was a homemaker and a member of Mars Hill Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Melva Roper of Dallas, GA, James and Audrey Roper of Dallas, GA and Russell Roper of Clarkston, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Jean Gravett of Dallas, GA, Evelyn Roper of Piedmont, AL, Dorothy McDaniel of Marietta and Cathy and Ricky Crowe of Austell, GA; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Homer Ragsdale of Acworth; 22 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 27, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA with Reverend Max Padgett and Reverend Olen Crowe officiating. The interment will follow in Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Roswell with Johnny New, Tommy Roper, Aaron McDaniel, Scott Crowe, Ronny Gravett and Jimmy Gravett serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA in charge of arrangements.
