My garden needs staking before the storm

Recommended Posts

I have been under the weather so I didn't do any gardening for a week. I had to this morning, most of my plants that I love grow very tall. The dahlias,( the yellow ones) get 8-10 feet tall and produce huge blooms. They have just started blooming. The pink are hardy hibiscus they get about 6ft but the dinner plate size blooms easily pull them over with a little wind. They are in my back garden by the pool.

I took some pictures of the front yard gardens because you lose a lot of blooms in heavy rains. Of course you get a great re-bloom fairly quickly too.

Laurie, you always have the prettiest flower garden around. I mean just beautiful! I know, for sure, that you gave put hours and hours of back breaking work into it and that you completely enjoy them. I hope the fruits of your labor come through the other side of these storms in one piece.

I hope the wind does not take anything out, I need the rain bad. Some of the storms last week skipped us.

I like. I just don't have green trump for flowers.

I don't do well with potted plants or hanging baskets. A lot of people that move to Ga or live in a new home here think they can't garden. 2 ladies moved next door to me swore they could not grow anything. I have been tutoring them on how to grow in Ga this year. I will take pictures of their garden and post them. They don't weed, they only water, you will be amazed at what we have in just one season. It id a 99% perennial garden and it will be amazing next year.
