PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. - Officials say they are investigating a shooting at a Paulding County park.
The Paulding County Sheriff's Office told Channel 2 Action News that they were called to a shooting near Sara Babb Park in Dallas around 12:30 p.m.
Investigators told Channel 2’s Berndt Petersen that two best friends, ages 16 and 18, went to an open field near the park for target practice after the 18-year-old took his father’s gun.

Police said the 18-year-old was showing off the gun when it went off by accident and shot the 16-year-old in the face.
The park was evacuated after 911 received calls for a possible active shooter.
Dallas police said the 18-year-old was taken into custody for questioning.
The 16-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital. Investigators said the boy is alive, but did not say what his condition was.
