Another school shooting.

Recommended Posts

Newsweek is reporting that Trump DID NOT congratulate Putin. You don't reckon the medial lied again, do ya?

And the year doesn't matter. Putin is former KGB and has always been ruthless.

Like RM, you're grasping at straws, just looking for reasons to hate the man.

But carry on, it's hilarious!

It's MEDIA not MEDIAL.

This is a Newsweek article with another viewpoint. Gee, wonder if the article you referred to was posted by a bot?

Or is this a case of the right hand not knowing what the other hand is doing?

but he’s so busy calling a foreign dictator to congratulate him on stealing a election..give the man? A break he’s swamped trying to defend his reputation against porn stars and women who are saying he assaulted them...he don’t have time for small stuff like gun control

Given that there are already over 22,000 laws on the books that regulate firearms....please share with us your brilliant insight as to what new law would "fix" the school shootings? Be specific, now.

Trump had better keep his gun it its holster. Playboy bunnies are not Easter bunnies. If he wants to shoot a rabbit he had better stay home with his wife.

Really? In other words, study every state gun law THEN study the federal gun laws and get back to dogs with the results. Aren't you done yet OSU? LOL

This is well known troll tactic. LOL

Typo, it happens.

Here's a very different Newsweek article.

http://www.newsweek.com/will-trump-call-putin-congratulate-him-852666

It's hard to know what really happened with today's corrupt media. It's starting to look like the story claiming Trump congratulated Putin might have come from a Democrat, so who knows.

But Obama absolutely did congratulate Putin, so even if Trump did too, he did nothing that Obama did.

Bottom line is...you guys have allowed the media to whip you into fake outrage over something that Obama did too.

Its not my job to fix gun control its those people that were elected to serve the peoples job...but you feel comfortable to sit back and do nothing and let shootings take place? And if you are smart enough to read at the beginning of this post I stated I didnt know what the answers are, but if no one gives a crap then let them keep sitting on there hands. But it breaks my heart that people are so afraid their guns will be taken away that is more important then a kids life. And you are an ass is that specific enough for you? Edited by OSU

Trump said himself that he congratulated Putin. Apparently after his National Security advisors told him not to. I think that's where the controversy is.

Your first mistake is looking to politicians to fix this problem...

This solution to this issue can found in your local community by lobbying for preventative measures.

When we decide to make school security a top priority and protect our children from violent attack...

Our judges and board of education meetings are protected by an armed sheriff's deputy

our young elementary school students are protected by a receptionist with a panic button.

I agree, we have all had to go to the Court House for one reason or another where we are greeted by 4 to 5 full time sheriff's deputy's whose sole job seems to be to be to make us remove our belts, peek under pants legs and BS with each other all day. Assuming there are two eight hour shifts and each officer is being paid 35k per year on average amounts to $350,000 + benefits a year to guard a desk.

The bomber in Texas is dead as well, both thanks to police officers shooting them dead.

It wasn't a member of Fox who made the statement he heard. It was a member of the Democratic Party being interviewed.

No police officer shot the Austin bomber. He blew himself up. Try to research your facts before posting. Also, no dem was involved in the trump/Putin nonsense. trump himself confirmed the congratulatory call.

So, wading through all of your emotional diatribe...you a.) don't know what the problem really is, b.) don't have a solution to propose, c.) infer that supporters of the 2nd amendment don't "value life", and, d.) revert to name calling. Typical uninformed liberal crybaby.

Scream "Do something"...and 19,000 laws later the problem still exists. Not one damn time today has that semi-automatic rifle in my gun safe banged on the door and yelled "Let me OUT! I wanna go kill somebody!"

So did Obama and the Dems his first two years.

I partially agree.

But the problem is bigger than that. We have one party unwilling to discuss anything BUT gun control, and we have a whole bunch of social problems that neither party wants to address.

Why would someone who claims to be a conservative (who claim to want less government) expect politicians of either party to address social issues? They already spend their time doing everything but the job they are elected to do; they do not have time for nor are they equipped to solve society's problems. It seems quite a few of them don't even have enough self-control to manage their own lives, much less someone else's.

If the government would actually govern, parents would parent and churches minister to those seeking spiritual guidance, society might at least be more civil and unified. Instead, they all want to exceed the scope of or outright abdicate their responsibilities and then blame the other guy when something goes wrong.

The creep of various political agendas into every corner of life is slowly eating away at anyone's ability or desire to accomplish anything worthwhile anymore. And still there are those who insist on defending/propagating a system that is clearly failing this country.

Society will not be better until people are better. People won't be better until they are willing to look at themselves as critically as they do others and adjust accordingly.

Have gotten tired of all the back and forth where nobody will change anyone's minds.

I remember as a kid all the things we could have done that were fun, dangerous and borderline suicidal. Switching the chains on the swings, and don't get me started on the see saws!

I lived in rural TN, schools were integrated during that time. I'm sure that common folk owned guns, but there was no gun activity.

Sorry, what ever happened to people who actually care about our country, our country, our future and our kids?

TRIBALISM.

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/09/can-democracy-survive-tribalism.html

The project of American democracy — to live beyond such tribal identities, to construct a society based on the individual, to see ourselves as citizens of a people’s republic, to place religion off-limits, and even in recent years to embrace a multiracial and post-religious society — was always an extremely precarious endeavor. It rested, from the beginning, on an 18th-century hope that deep divides can be bridged by a culture of compromise, and that emotion can be defeated by reason. It failed once, spectacularly, in the most brutal civil war any Western democracy has experienced in modern times. And here we are, in an equally tribal era, with a deeply divisive president who is suddenly scrambling Washington’s political alignments, about to find out if we can prevent it from failing again.

Yep. Not a happy time, but during WW2 the USA was all together for the most part, as we were after 911. What in the hello has happened. I love my country, but I guess I'm too old to get this political cluster fark anymore.

Actually, not old enough to not keep voting....

And the kids in FL, that generation will be defining your fate.

Nite.

She's an American, E Z, not a Rebel. There's still a lot of Rebels around here, who turned their backs on America. William Sherman was too soft on the traders. He should have killed them all.

You are indeed a trucking hypocrite.

It has to do with a history of events. Obama congratulates Putin in 2012. Since then Putin's Russia has invaded Ukraine, annexed Crimea, shot down a civilian passenger jet, helped Assad in the slaughter of thousands of Syrians, murdered his enemies on British soil and interfered with our elections. So no RM is not a hypocrite the hypocrites are the ones that claim to support Democracy and give DJT a pass.

Don't just pick and choose your history. Russia went to war with Georgia in 2008 and that's what started the destabilization we see now in Europe. BTW.. Our response (good will gesture) was to scrap the missile defense plans for Poland and Czech.

Here's a prime example of why we shouldn't make national policy based on the feelings of a bunch of high school kids.

David Hogg (one of the most vocal students) is for more gun control laws for the entire country but he draws the line at students having to use clear backpacks.

Let's not pretend that there's not millions of other people who feel the same way those kids do. People have been trying to make changes for years. Most notably since 25 6 and 7 year olds were gunned down in their classroom. Never in my life have I seen adults try so hard to discredit child victims of violence.

Are you OK with the fact that he's worried about the 1st amendment but couldn't care less about the 2nd? He has no idea what he's talking about. Sure he has the right to say whatever he thinks and I feel sorry for him and all his classmates for what they went through but that doesn't mean we should set policy based on his beliefs.

Wanting more gun control doesn't equal not caring about the second amendment. I personally know plenty of gun owners that understand this.

My point is, he's not alone in his beliefs. If any policy we're changed, it wouldn't be because David Hogg said it should be. It would be because parents, concerned citizens, and victims have finally had enough.
