junky used car lots along Merchants Drive. The Marshal's office doesn't care. They are depreciating the neighborhood.

Another thing that depreciates a neighborhood are people who think they need more than about 1100 sq.ft. of a house. If they have more house than that, it shows they care more about space than they do about their neighbors.

They may appear junky but I bet your they have a legal business license. The city/county got their money and it is up to them to change their laws to make them look different.

I'm just thinking if your going to be so uppity maybe you should move into a more upscale neighborhood. If you can't afford to do that maybe you should just accept your lot in life. Your poor you live in a poor neighborhood them's the breaks.

Another instance of you shooting your mouth off when you have absolutely NO clue.

I've been to Cpt. Butler's home.  It's clean, well maintained, and he's a hell of a nice guy.   I'd never describe him as "poor".

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist".

I guess you haven't been to Detroit recently?  Or, Newark or East St.Louis or Gary, IN, or Stockton, CA?

You know, those bastions of liberal Democrat government that have been so successful in attracting wealthy, educated leaders and businesspeople.  Progressive people,  who have uplifted the poorer of their brethren, so their city can be that bright example of how well Socialism works.

Living in a neighborhood like the Captin is describing makes him seem like a poor man, dogs! You're known by the company you keep; are you not?

Youre. YOUR grammar is just dreadful. And are you insinuating that poor people deserve to live in squalor?

People who are still in grammar have more trouble comprehending the living conditions of slum dwellers. If the Captin doesn't wish to live in slum conditions maybe he should consider moving to a richer neighborhood, Shananigans!

I spell Shenanigans a little different than you do, Shananigans!

It was sarcasm, I see the same thing happening in my neighborhood. When I first moved in all the homes were new, people were proud of their new homes and it showed in how the homes and yards were kept. When home values rose many chose to cash in and move. Some of the homes became rentals. Yards slowly became cluttered with trash, driveways began to fill with old cars and a once proud neighborhood became just somewhere to live. I use to be concerned as I saw my property value plummet but have finally come to  accept what short of winning the lottery and moving I cannot change.

I love sarcasm... My wife is the biggest smarty pants I know, but some stuff just ain't right.

I gripe about the red tape involved in even getting a response from our Marshal's Office. You have to go to a web site, download a form with your own public information on it, and possible get dragged into testifying in court because someone else won't follow the law.

These guys test drive cars up and down my quiet residential street and they leave grease marks and drag marks all over the road. They are always blocking traffic with these old beaters they're working on. I'm fed up to the point I want to scream.

If a deputy sheriff sees you break the law, they'll issue a citation on the spot, but with the Marshal, they turn a blind eye unless the victim (aka neighbors who live next door to Sanford & Son) make a complaint in writing.  This just sucks and our entire board of commissioners could make a change, but they are too busy I suppose.

Once again Captain, I believe the one you are talking about falls inside the Dallas city limits. Normally if the mayor is not involved they don't do anything.

The one is on Merchants Drive at Wilbanks Cir (just outside the City)... pure junk ...every bit of it

Just for giggles, go to Google Maps and pull up 11 Wilbanks Circle...look at all the grease and black marks all on the road...the grass is generally two feet tall and there's generally all kinds of trash in the ditch and junk cars blocking the road...https://www.google.c...5!4d-84.7916549

Apparently Merchants Drive changes names to Atlanta Hwy right along there, so Merchants Drive is in the City, but Atlanta Hwy is County. The address of this rathole used junky car lot is in the county, not the city. The Marshal's Office is useless and should be disbanded.

That one is junky too...you'd think you'd need at least a paved car lot and not cars parked on a muddy hillside.

When I lived in Paulding County, officials wouldn't even allow me access to a public street, while the Marshalls office turned a blind eye. It took about 5 years and many thousand dollars to keep from being charged for trespass on a public street that ran adjacent to my property.

Believe me, I am aware of the neglect of the Marshals office. They work for the board of Paulding County representatives, not the citizenship, Captian.

Yes. There's some auto repair shop and a thrift store (right by New Canaan Baptist Church)

People like to believe that people hoarding trash doesn't hurt anyone. Nobody wants to live around it. They say if you don't like it move. You can't move because no one will buy your property so you are stuck. You think that if you live on a lot of acreages it doesn't hurt anyone. We were land shopping in Polk, I can't tell you how many parcels we looked at and said no way due to surrounding landowners using their property as a dump. I don't want to have to look at it every day.

The hoarders see value in everything then pile it up until it is rotted trash that will never be of use to anyone but the people paid to haul it away. We have 3 in our neighborhood. They keep it tarped to keep the neighbors off their backs.

Junk piles are habitat for rats, mice, and snakes that eat them. It is necessary to control these people because they can not control themselves.

As far as releasing my name here, it's not going to happen.  There have been people here who found someone's given name and then found where they worked and made things difficult for them - all because they didn't like them here because of their political opinions.

Controlling people, in Paulding Country, is done in favor of the Good-Old-Boys no matter what the scenario. The Good-Old-Boys look only after their friends after they get through looking after themselves. You have to know who to get friendly with, in Paulding County. The law is on their side. And, I'll guarantee you that the rules and regulation book containing county ordinances is no issue when it comes to what the Good-Old-Boys want to do for themselves and their friends.

A citizen can go to court and prove he was right about one of the ordinances, and the Good-Old-Boys will say, "You Won." But, you didn't win anything. It was already an ordinance. It was already written down right there in the county ordinance book.

I disagree, Lady Raider! The Marshal's office serves a good purpose in code enforcement, which benefits the-good-old-boy system. I'll guarantee you that the codebook is used to the fullest extent of the law when it comes to enforcing codes that the-good-old-boy system wishes to be enforced. But, they don't want any code standing in the way of what the-good-old-boys want to do, in Paulding County.

The Marshal's office is very useful, and worth the money Paulding County citizens pay for it.
