We're planning on going to the Apple Festival on the weekend of Oct 14th & October 15th.

Also, the festival will be the following weekend too Oct 21st - Oct 22nd

Plenty of arts & crafts and of course, apples, apple pies, apple cider, apple this and apple that.

I always enjoy the North Georgia festivals.

I've always thought a good lashing with a buggy whip would benefit you immensely.

Ain't no way you'd catch me anywhere NEAR there for Apple Festival.

I've been once and my daughter used to work it when she was attending NGCSU.

It's a MAD HOUSE!!!

I just don't have the patience to deal with crowds anymore.

And what the heck do people do with all those Apples I see them leaving with from Mercer Farms?

HUGE bags and bags and bags of Apples!!!  How many dang apple pies, apple cobblers, apple butter, apple jellies can you POSSIBLY make???

I'm the same way. I just can't deal with the crowds, long lines and traffic.

We thought about going up this weekend but it's supposed to be raining and the crowds will be bad, just not AS bad as later.

We used to love going to the apple festival, Burt's Pumpkin Patch, Sorghum Festival, etc. but the crowds have gotten to be so awful we don't go anymore.  We will go to Elijay sometime this month for apples, but skip the tourist places and try to do it during the week.

I don't like traffic, crowds, or apples.

I love apples, the mountains and buying boiled peanuts from some remote place on the side of the road while riding through the mountains on a fall day.  Traffic, crowds, etc. not so much.  Haven't been to Helen at this time of year for decades for ages for the same reason.

I hope we get some color.  Right now it looks like leaves are just turning brown and falling off.

Do they grow apples in and around Ellijay year round?

My mother kept asking me to ride up there with her.

Don't care for apples. When I was a baby, I drank apple and grape juices as I refused to drink dairy/milk.

We'll be in Tennessee for an FMCA rally at the end of October.  I hope we see some pretty colors then and avoid the leaf peepers.

Different types come in at different times. But they are locally grown. I remember apples coming in as early as June and different ones come in until late October/November.

Check out the varieties of apples grown in North Georgia (Blue Ridge).

I like Mercier Orchards as well as Panorama.

Those are my two favorites as well, just not during festival time.

I use go every year. I would bring back apples for other people who could not get away to mts. I don't like apples but do love me a good homemade apple turnover.

We're heading up there this morning.... Have a great day folks. I'm sure I'll see a few thousand of my closest friends in Ellijay this morning,

I went on Saturday. The crowds weren't that bad. The traffic was backed up and my kids found a different route to go on their phones. We even went over a covered bridge, now that was unexpected.

Oh yeah, I didn't buy any apples, but I did try an apple cider doughnut and a pumpkin spice moscow mule.

We got there early but there were already thousands of folks there. We managed to buy some stuff from a blacksmith there and of course we bought Apple Butter, apple pies, apple cinnamon bread, a bag of apples, a bearclaw, etc. We also went to downtown Ellijay and visited all the antique shops and outside vendors there too and then drove up to Blue Ridge to visit Mercier Orchards. It was a very good day to spend in North Georgia.

The festival will be there again this weekend too.
