Blind woman brutally beat; PCSOseeks help finding perp

 The Paulding County Sheriff’sOffice Criminal Investigations Division and the UnitedStates Marshal Service Southeast Regional Fugitive TaskForce (SERFTF) are looking for Charles Brandon Ayers (W/M,37 YOA).

Ayers is wanted in connection to a beating that left thevictim, Tammy Usher of Paulding, in very serious conditionat a hospital in Cartersville. Usher, who is blind, sufferedfacial fractures, lacerations, contusions, and severebruising as a result of the beating.

Usher and Ayers had been lifelong acquaintances up until thebeating took place. When they left her Paulding County homeon April 26th in the family truck, Usher did not thinkanything about it.

After being gone three days and enduring days of abuse,Ayers finally dropped Usher off at the Loves Truck Stop inEmerson, GA and asked a friend to take her to the hospitalbecause he had warrants. Ayers has not been seen since April29th, and the truck they were driving is still missing.

As a result of rigorous Detective work, Ayers was chargedwith Aggravated Battery (F) and Theft by Conversion (F) outof Paulding County.

Ayers is also wanted out of Douglas County for AggravatedAssault (F) for allegedly beating another woman.

Ayers could be traveling in the truck he stole from thevictim’s family which is described as a Silver 1999 DodgeRam 1500 bearing Georgia tag RFZ 5853.

ARRESTED Charles Brandon Ayers, who was being sought for savagely beating a blind Paulding County women, was taken into custody a short time ago without incident. Thank you to all of our citizens who provided tips to aid in his capture. #pauldingsheriff #commUNITY

Apparently he was caught in west Paulding: From the SO: Charles Brandon Ayers was just taken into custody by Deputies with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office without incident. He was arrested in western Paulding County and gave up peacefully to Deputies.
