Clark Funeral Home Posted December 16, 2016 Report Share Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) James Rayford (Jim) Branch, age 81, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016. He was born on April 06, 1935 to the late Claude Aaron & Arie Gilbert Branch and was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Branch, brother, Charles Branch, son-in-law, Steven E. Young, Sr. and infant daughter. He served in the United States Air Force, worked at Lockheed for thirty plus years, a member of the Lions Club, the Masons and the Paulding County Republican Party. He was a very faithful member of New Canaan Baptist Church and wanted his family and friends to remember, “This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.” Survivors include his wife, Martha Branch of Dallas, GA; son, Alan & Lisa Branch of Kansas City, Mo; step son, John & Alina Palmer of Kennesaw GA; daughters, Aletha & Jim Powell, Sr. of Albertville, Al, Theresa & Troy Lindsey of Dawsonville, GA. and Neta Kay Young, Dallas, GA; brothers, Leon & Nellie Branch, Jerrell & Linda Branch, and Eddie & Diane Branch; sister, Barbara Parker all of Clay County, Al; grandchildren, Jeremiah & Amy Laird, Micah & Shannon Laird, Andrew & Abby Lindsey, Allison & Daniel Haynes, Steven Young, Jr., Joy Branch, and Anna Beth Branch; great grandchildren, Christian Lindsey, Georgia Lindsey, Rory Lindsey, Alex Haynes, Pately Laird and Ripley Laird. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 3:00PM from New Canaan Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Loudermilk and Reverend James Cook, Jr. officiating, and will lie in state at the church from 2 PM until 3 PM. Interment will follow in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Jim Branch, Jeremiah Laird, Steven Young, Jr., Daniel Haynes, Ethan Branch and Andrew Lindsey will serve as pallbearers, Allison Haynes, Ann Beth Branch, Joy Branch and members of the Masons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 5 PM until 8 PM. In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the Paulding County Lions Club.
