Ronnie Dean Boone - November 18, 1943 - November 13, 2016

Ronnie Dean Boone passed away peacefully with his family at his side on November 13, 2016, at WellStar Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain, Marietta, Georgia. He was born in Mitchell County on November 18, 1943 the son of John Nathan Boone and Nola Sparks Boone. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Bernice Pauline Boone Jarrett, Arby Earl Boone, Frank Homer Boone, Lena Bell Boone Howell, John Frazier Boone, John Nathan Boone, Jr., James Samuel Boone, Charles Willard Boone, Margaret Boone Howell, Worley (Bud) Boone, Lucille Boone Kimbrell, Virgil Lee Boone, James Robert Boone and Donald Jay Boone. He is survived by one brother Howard Ray Boone, Snellville, Georgia.



Survivors also are his children Rachel Ann Boone Lundy and husband Rev. Jeremy Lundy with grandchildren, Gabriel Lundy, Noah Lundy, Gracie Lundy and Sarah Lundy, Dallas, Georgia; son Ronnie Dean Boone, Jr., Bethlehem, Georgia, Sam Duffey Boone and wife Angie Mullinax Boone, grandchildren Nathan Frank Boone, Elizabeth Boone, William Dean Boone, Vivian Blair Boone, Samuel James Boone, daughter Kasey Elizabeth Boone of Dallas, Georgia, Marietta, Georgia and a step daughter Vicky Marie Avon Engelman, Frisco, Texas. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.



After graduating from Bowman High School, Bakersville, N. C., he attended Lees McRae College in Banner Elk, N. C. and later moved to Atlanta, GA where he joined the Atlanta Police Department as well as the Georgia National Guard. He later was employed by Alexander Underwriters, Inc. in Decatur, Georgia where he learned insurance underwriting. He returned to his roots in Spruce Pine, N. C. and opened his own insurance agency in Spruce Pine and Newland, N. C. Ronnie later moved back to the Atlanta area to be with his children and grandchildren.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 5 PM until 8 PM. Interment will follow in Rebels Creek Cemetery in North Carolina at a later date.
