Mr. Danny Lamar McClung, age 69, of Dallas, GA, died suddenly, Saturday evening, September 24, 2016.

 

Danny was born in Villa Rica, GA, on March 20, 1947, the son of the late J.B. McClung, Jr., and Lizzie Mae “Shorty” Garner McClung. He had been a resident of Dallas and Paulding County the greater part of his life. Danny was a faithful member of the Bethany Christian Church. He retired in 2003 from Lockheed, having worked there from the age of 19 years old. Danny loved cars, trucks, working of the farm and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Elaine Vaughn.

 

Danny is survived by his wife, Dale Thomason McClung, whom he married on August 28, 1987; children and their spouses, Jason and Casie McClung, Gabriel Smith, Brandi and Barry Goughler, Heather McClung and Israel Smith; grandchildren, Caiti Rakestraw, Justin McClung, Cody Smith, Courtney Smith, Jacob McClung, Nickolas Goughler, Ashlynn Bishop, Eli Smith and Rylan Rychlik; brothers and sister-in-law, Ricky McClung, and Benny and Pam McClung; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Judy and David Jones, Tony and Mona Alexander and Ben and Patty Vaughn. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

 

Funeral services for Danny Lamar McClung will be held on Tuesday afternoon, September 27, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Robby Entrekin and Rev. Dick Hollis officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home on Tuesday by 1:30 p.m. and include Timothy McClung, Chris Cannova, Jeff Vaughn, Jeremy Jones, Cody Smith, Clint Trader and Justin McClung.

 

Danny will remain at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Monday evening, September 26, 2016, from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m.
