Mr. Gene Swain, age 84, of Powder Springs passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital.

 

Gene was born on August 23, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to loving parents, the late Mr. Arthur C. Swain and Mrs. Anna Swain. Gene was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and worked for many years as an engineer. A veteran, Gene served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and cars.

 

Gene is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Swain of Dallas; 2 children, Brian (Gretchen) Swain of St. Peters, MO and Gayle Swain of Fort Wayne, IN; 3 step children, Melissa (Eugene) McBrayer of Dallas, Bobby (Tina) Howell of Dallas, and Miles (Dawn) Biddy of Acworth; 4 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends also survive.

 

A memorial service will be held of Gene Swain on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene McBrayer officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-2:30 PM.

 

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church.
