Wayne "Tennessee" Floyd - October 18, 1938 - July 25, 2016

Mr. Wayne “Tennessee” Floyd, age 77, of Dallas, GA, passed away at his residence on Monday, July 25, 2016.

 

Tennessee was born on October 18, 1938, in Lenoir City, TN, the son of the late George W. “Buck” Floyd and Hazel McLaughlin Floyd. He had been a resident of Dallas and Paulding County the greater part of his life and was a member of the Pumpkinvine Baptist Church. Tennessee was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Post 111 American Legion of Dallas. He was also a member of the South Paulding/New Georgia Ruritan Club. Tennessee loved yard work, fishing and coaching little league baseball and football. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Joyce Brown Floyd.

 

Tennessee is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, David Wayne and Ginger Floyd of Buchanan, GA, Michael Allen “Mikey” and Teresa Floyd of Hiram, GA, and Levi Shane and Jennifer Floyd of Temple, GA.; three grandchildren, Morgan Floyd, Jacob Floyd and Abigayle Floyd; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Sue Jane Hartsook of Lenoir City and Patsy Barker of Farragut, TN., and Linda and Clyde Amburn of Loudon, TN.

 

Funeral Services for Wayne “Tennessee” Floyd will be held on Thursday morning, July 28, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Pumpkinvine Baptist Church with Rev. Don Bazal officiating. Interment will follow in the Paulding Memorial Gardens with military honors rendered.

 

Tennessee’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.

 

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church on Thursday morning by 10:30 a.m. and include Billy Freeman, Clyde Hicks, Don Ashbaugh, Lamar Johnson, Wayne Steele and Allen Fossett.

 

The staff of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Wayne “Tennessee” Floyd.
