Mr. Sydney Thomas Gamble, age 72, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 13, 2016, following an extended illness.

 

Sydney was born in Flint, MI, on July 16, 1943, the son of the late Sidney and Janice Reed Gamble. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from General Motors after several years of service to the company. Sydney was a man of few words, but a kind and gentle soul. He considered himself just “an old hippie”.

 

Sydney is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cathylena Joyce AND Ferrell Blacksmith of Dallas; one granddaughter, Brandi Gamble of Dallas; four half siblings and their spouses, Marvin Dennis and Joyce Duren of Port Orange, FL, Bonnie Duren Baker of Canton, OH, Betty Duren Leeper and her husband, Cyrus “Rush” of Garland, TX, and Janet Duren Ehret and her husband, Thomas, J., of Wasilla, AK.

 

A Celebration of Life to honor Sydney’s memory will be held at a later date.
