Anyone else find it ridiculous that school is out today for municipal elections?  My bet is that fewer than 500 will vote in Dallas and Hiram.  Election machines could have easily been set up at the appropriate city halls and school could go on as normal.

Can't teachers catch up like the rest of us - in the evenings, getting up early, and on the weekends?

In the greater scheme of things and life, it's really not that big of a deal. I'm personally glad to have the extra day to allow myself and my daughter to recover from our stomach virus.

And I don't know that a teacher work day is spent catching up. Perhaps they are attending workshops or other important matters.

Seriously?  They already do that.  I don't even see have they have time for their family, it seems like school work, homework, tests, projects, meetings, learning sessions and further education takes up all their time.

There is not enough money to begin to pay me for what they have to go through.

I've always said the most important jobs, a soldier, a policeman, fireman and teachers are the least appreciated and the least paid.

And did you know that in some schools in Georgia now, the teacher is not allowed to sit at their desk?  They must be on their feet all day, every day.  What the hell is that for?  So they can be involved?  Keep an eye on the students?  So they can argue over a cell phone someone has on their desk that they don't any authority to do anything about?

Our schools are a mess.  An absolute in the process of melt-down mess and no one has any answers or solutions, except another BILLION dollar COMMON CORE cirriculium, which is political, and another series of test, which are useless.
