Mr. Marshall E. Bennett, age 60, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Saturday afternoon, August 8, 2015, at his residence.

 

Marshall was born on January 15, 1955, in Duluth, GA, to loving parents, the late Mr. J.L Hayes and Mrs. Mary Nell Rickles. Marshall worked as a roll tender at a printing company and also served in the United States Army in his lifetime. A Christian, he was a member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding fourwheelers. He was loved by his family and all that knew him.

 

Marshall is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Joey Bennett, and two sisters, Debra Lynn Hayes and Sandy Hansard.

 

Marshall is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Mrs. Becky Bennett; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sarah Bennett of Dallas; three grandchildren, Addie Bennett, Troy Bennett, and Zach Bennett all of Dallas; and one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Reshea Hayes of Carrollton. Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.

 

The funeral service for Marshall E. Bennett will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Childers officiating. Jimmy Turner, Russell Norton, Jeremy Wallis, Terry Dobbins, Rick Parson, and James Fuller will serve as pallbearers. Marshall’s grandsons, Troy and Zach Bennett, will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Dwayne Hewett officiating the committal service.

 

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 10, 2015, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America at hdsa.org.

 

The staff of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Marshall E. Bennett.
