Murriel McKinley Whitener, age 75, of Villa Rica, GA, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Whitener was born on April 20, 1940, in Murphy North Carolina, to the late Parriot Whitener and Callie Woods Whitener.

 

Mr. Whitener’s main hobby was his work. He attended college in Seattle, Washington, Young Harris College, and Kennesaw University. He was in the Air National Guard.

 

Survivors include his wife, Gaynelle Ireland Whitener of Villa Rica, GA; sons, Chris Whitener and Shawn Whitener, both of Villa Rica, GA; brother, Harriel Whitener of Alabama; sister, Elaine Whitener of White County, GA; four grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.

 

A memorial service for Mr. Whitener will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM, from the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Kevin Williams officiating.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 10:00 AM until service time.
