Mr. L.D. "Dan" Gable - May 25, 1937 - June 24, 2015

Mr. L.D. “Dan” Gable passed away on the morning of June 24, 2015. He was born on May 25, 1937, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Rudolph and Florence Gable. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, brothers Bill and Don Gable, and his beloved daughter, Cindy Lynn Brown. Dan was a veteran, who served in the navy, mason and Shriner. He worked at Lockheed in Marietta, GA, for 37 years and retired in 1999. He enjoyed traveling to Florida (being a snowbird during the winter months) with his wife and enjoyed spending time with all of their snowbird friends for the past ten years. In the summer, Dan and Edna would spend many weeks in her home state of Pennsylvania, first with their friends, John and Sharon Long and later Edna’s nephew, Mike Rose and his wife, Brenda. His most favorite thing though was being a grandfather. He loved all of his grandchildren very much.

 

Dan is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edna Gable of Hiram, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Allen White of Dallas, GA; son, Danny Gable of Dallas, GA; son-in-law, Robert Brown of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Clinton & Magan Robinson, Dylan Gable, Chad White, Madilyn Gable and Andrew Brown; sister, Wanda Bullard, sisters-in-law, JoAnne Gable and Margaret Gable; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 1 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Rodney Carson officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. Clint Robinson, Dylan Gable, Chad White, Andrew Brown, Jason Seals and David Pennington will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 26, 2015, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
