Mr. George Wendell Washington, age 78, of Dallas passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 at his residence.

 

A native of Dallas and Paulding County, George was born on October 3, 1936, the son of the late Ralph Daniel Washington and Ruth Mae Dudley Washington. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. For over 54 years George was self employed as a chicken farmer. He loved the Atlanta Braves and was an avid Nascar fan. In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Lamar Washington and his grandson, Jacob Christian Broome.

 

George is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Martha Lou Kiser Washington, to whom he was married on June 2, 1965; a daughter and a son in law, Karen Bridget and Joe Broome; two sons, Ricky Lamar Washington and Christopher Emmanuel Washington; two grandchildren, Rebecca Riley Washington and Brittany Alysse Broome; four sisters, Evelyn Clay, Barbara Jean Morris, Dorothy Gereck, and Linda Faye Williams. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.

 

Funeral services for George W. Washington will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Tibbitts officiating. Mike Daniell, Robby Williams, Tim Washington, Mark Morris, Matt Morris, and Joe Broome will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Dallas Memory Gardens.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 5-8 PM.
