Mrs. Hazel Catherine Grizzard Williams, age 89, of Dallas, GA, passed away at Wellstar Paulding Hospital on Wednesday, June 10, 2015.

 

Hazel was born on May 11, 1926, in Muscadine, AL, to loving parents, the late Mr. Carl Grizzard and Mrs. Beulah Wisener Grizzard. A Christian, Hazel was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Hiram, GA. She worked at JC Penney’s for many years in the shipping and receiving department. Hazel was a woman with a feisty personality and she was well loved by her family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and having family get togethers.

 

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pat Blanton; sister, Gladys Sims; brothers, Hulan Grizzard, Gleason Grizzard, Jerald Grizzard, and Hubert Grizzard; and three beloved husbands, Mr. James Hagan, Mr. Arton “Mac” McPherson, and Mr. Hugh Williams.

 

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Kathy (Richard) Smith of Lynn Haven, FL; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Catherine Grizzard Williams will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Greer and Rev. Jackie Sanders officiating. Johnny Blanton, Richard Smith, Joe Nelson, Wayne Buice, Ty Goodpaster, and Nathan Buice will serve as pallbearers. Greg Thorpe will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Hiram, GA.

 

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2015, from 4:00 until 9:00 PM at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home.
