Mr. Doug Norton, age 63, of Alabaster, AL, and formerly of Dallas, GA, passed away on May 27, 2015, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL.

 

Doug was born on June 7, 1951, in Clarkesville, GA, to loving parents the late Mr. Herschel Melvin Norton and Mrs. Stella Mae Burrell Norton. Doug worked for Southern Company Services as a reliability coordinator. A Christian, Doug was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with electronics, doing yard work and taking care of his family.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

 

Doug is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sue Norton of Alabaster, AL; one son, Mr. Christopher (Karen) Norton of Dallas; one grandson, Chase Norton of Dallas; one brother, Mr. David (Marsha) Norton of Mt. Airy, GA; two nephews, Mr. Charles (Lisa) Norton of Cornelia, GA and Mr. Eric Norton of Mt. Airy, GA. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

 

Funeral services for Doug Norton will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015, at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Cook, Jr., officiating. Kenneth Jameson, Andrew Jameson, Charles Norton, Eric Norton, David Norton, and Roger Jameson will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Peaceful Meadows Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 31, 2015, from 4:00 until 9:00 PM.
