Harriette E. Mitchell, age 89, of Dallas, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014. She was born in Atlanta, GA, April 25, 1925, and was preceded in death by her parents, William P. & Ollie E. Earnest, her husband, Frank Mitchell and her sister, Frieda Crowe. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she served as the pianist and organist for 56 years. She received her training at Crawford Long Hospital in the Nurse Cadet Corp for World War II and worked as a nurse for over 70 years at many hospitals in the Atlanta area before retiring from Inner Harbour in April 2013.

Survivors include her daughters & sons-in-law, Shiela & Derry Dunn of Powder Springs, GA and Denise & Derek Holmes of Winston, GA; grandchildren, Tommy Murphy (Shirley), Tanya Hunton, Drew Holmes (Jodi) and Jon Frank Holmes (April); nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 12, 2014, at 3:00 PM, from Bethel United Methodist Church, with Reverend Beverly Wilkerson Casstevens officiating. Kyle Phillips, George Pope, Drew Holmes, Mark Lewis, Chris Dillard and Emanuel Cordova will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, September 11, 2014, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Harriette was such a sweet and wonderful lady! She loved the Lord and serving him at Bethel UMC which she loved very much as well.

My prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
